Life goes on (a year after immortal beginnings. )

Rackett reconized Gabe right away. And of course he remembered him. But times have changed they were both older. Whatever hatred they had in the past was over with.

Good to see you still alive. You always were too stubborn to die though. Anyway, Troy here says you're growing choice weed. I'll trade you a potato for a joint.

Aaliyah did not listen to her father and pushed passed Lydia and Gabe. HI! I'm Aaliyah.

Rackett looked down at the little girl and smiled. He got down to her level and shook her hand.

I'm rackett. an old friend of your dad's.

Lydia wondered if the word friend was the right word to use.

Aaliyah shook the man's hand and Rackett stood back up. Cute kid.

Loki rolled his eyes at Harley. He thought about sending her to some other demension that would teach her. Maybe somewhere with giant earthworms. But he didn't he was here to relax and for once, not make any trouble.

He waved the guards away and headed towards the water his cloths magically stripping off of him till he was in nothing but some green and gold swim trunks.

Before Sherry could get to cooking there was another knock on their door. She quickly hurried off to answer it.

Seeing Vic there again was not expected.

Everything ok?

Wade scooped up the other four kittens and held them close to his chest as they tried to wiggle away.

The kids back home are going to love these little guys. I wonder where mamma cat is.

Wade headed back to the truck to grab a box and put the kittens inside.

Now that he had little kittens that probably needed food and water he would have to get back home soon. But he wasn't ready to leave just yet.

After the kittens were placed in the box he went back to Alyce and kissed her cheek.

You're my hero. Saved me from those screamers.

Nah Harley has always been a little off. But hopefully nothing else happens for the rest of the week. It's getting late, you kids want to wine down with some video games. I managed to get some old gameboys and working batteries.

Digger gave Ally a squeeze then stood up so he could go get the games.


Frost rocked Blaze in her arms soothing him. I guess I'm not longer needed here, I'll head back home.

"Assss... guarrrrrrd..." Harley finally told them, chuckling at her own joke. Clearly she was the only one that was amused. "Geeze, tough crowd..." And oh yeah, she was checking Loki out... how could she NOT?! Of course Flag noticed and was understandably irritated, but she was oblivious. That was, until she turned to look at him. That smile quickly dropped.

"What?"


There was a lot Flag wanted to say. How if the tables were turned and if he was looking at another female, she would lose her mind. But.. they were here to try and save their marriage. Starting an argument would be counter productive and it was sure to turn into that judging by how defensive her question had been. Instead he just sighed and turned to head towards the cabin to unpack, but a high pitched scream halted him in his tracks.


"SHARK!!!" A woman screamed, causing the guards to rush towards the water, but the scene caused them to hesitate. The once clear water was now turning red as the massive animal pulled a young girl under.

Flag wasted no time removing his shirt, tossing it aside as he ran towards the water and dove in...


"Flag!!!" Harley screamed after him, running in the direction of the ocean. She was scared for her husband. Sure, he was immortal, but knew there was no such thing as invincible, even in the world of those that were supposed to be immune to death.

River was excited!! She was all about some video games and clapped happily. "What games did you get??"


Star could only think about getting to her dad so she could tell him about the screamers, so she wasn't as excited as her sister, but was trying not to be too obvious. So she smiled in response. And who knew, maybe it would be a fun game!!


Blaze was getting sleepy. His little fingers curled into Frost's shirt and he pouted a little when she mentioned going home. Frost had become his safe place. Of course Digger and Ally made him feel safe too, but Frost had been giving him the most attention today. "Noooo, don't go..."

Alyce smiled at Wade, maybe even blushed a little. This guy was a charmer for sure. "Well I'm a little attached. Can't have you getting killed." Boy, that sounded corny. What was this guy doing to her? Making her soft? She carefully placed the little kitten into the box with it's siblings just as Zane came over to investigate...

"I'm sure the kids at the farm will love them."



The little creatures movements were a bit scary to Zane, but once they settled he reached in to gently stroke one of the little furballs, wanting to scoop it up, but not quite sure...

"Yeah, everything is fine." Vic told Sherry. "Mikko was hoping that maybe Angel would want to spend the night with us ...if that's okay with you and Dwight?"

Loki had just sat down on the warm sand digging his toes into the sand. This was nice. Asgard was home, but there were some things on earth that they just didn't have. One of them being sharks.

Hearing the screams of the woman and seeing the blood in the water Loki thought about not helping. It wasn't his business and he was there to relax. But, he couldn't just sit there and do nothing. It could be a kid that was being eaten. He had a soft spot for kids. That he would tell no one about.

Standing up he grabbed his scepter and got in the water behind Flag to fight off the shark and hopefully save whoever was being chewed up.

Wade grinned at Alyce and gave her another peck on the cheek. He wanted to kiss those lips but didn't want to push things.

He noticed Zane looking at the kittens and bent down scooping one up and placing it in his hand.

They are just babies. Baby kittens.

Dogpool sniffed at the kitten then began to lick it's face.

When the shark attacked Ivy went over to Harley to try and comfort her friend.

I see Flag never stopped trying to play hero.

She wanted to tell Harley that Flag would be fine. But she was pretty sure he was a dead man. Of course Ivy had no idea about Flag's new immortality. Still holding Dewy, Ivy rubbed Harley's back with her free hand.

Sherry was actually happy to hear that they wanted Angel to stay with them for the night. It would be good for the kid to be with Mikko.

She waved Angel over. Your mom and Vic want you to spend the night with them tonight. You want to do that?

Angel smiled and nodded. He skipped over to Vic and took the man's hand.

He's all yours. But...if something happens at any time you can bring him back.

Because Sherry knew all to well Angel's issue with attacking people and animals.

Digger went over to the living room and got out three game boys. the old gray ones. He was suprised they still worked.

There was an old pokemon game and some other games. mario, spyro the dragon, a racing game, and nintendogs.

He handed the gamesboys to River, Tina and Star. and let them pick out the games they wanted.

That should keep you kids occupid for a while, or at least until the batteries run out.

Frost gave Blaze a squeeze.

Ok I'll stay. Just for you.

Frost waved her hand and made a little frozen pony for the kid.

Mondo was out in the water on his surfboard when the shark attack happened. He quickly paddled back to shore and got out the water. He went over to Negan who was grabbing the kids to head back to the house.

Mondo helped him out and both of them got the hell out the danger zone.

It was seriously hard to concentrate with the overpowering smell of blood completely surrounding him, threatening to trigger that part of him that he wished did not exist. Fortunately Flag had recently fed so was able to hold it together, keeping in mind why he was in these blood filled waters. Someone was in danger. And that someone had yet to come back up from the depths in which she had been pulled. Flag wasn't sure what type of shark he was up against, or how massive it may be, but that didn't stop him from diving underneath the water...

Much to his surprise, he was able to see through the blood and the sand that the struggle had steered up. The massive animal's teeth were latched onto the little girl's arm, thrashing her violently. Flag pulled his knife from his boot and drove it deep into the creature's eye, causing it to release, but the damage had been done. Her arm separated from her body as Flag brought her up above the water. She gasped and screamed in pain through her sobs. It was only now that Flag realized just how young she was. Maybe 10 at the most.. this was hard. He wanted to try to comfort her, but the creature was quickly approaching again, this time also breaking above the water, now standing and towering over them ....

A familiar face, but no longer capable of rational thought... "Nanaue?"


Hearing his old name didn't faze the creature. He lunged again, which Flag dodged, but he knew it was going to be difficult fighting this thing with an injured kid in his arms. He spotted Loki close by, which was shocking, but a welcomed sight. Was he here to help?? He tried to hand him the injured child. "Get her to the infirmary..." He didn't take Loki as someone who cared, but the guy surely didn't come out into the water just for a closer look at the carnage ... or had he? Flag couldn't afford to think like that. The little girl didn't have that kind of time on her side...

Harley would have been in that water with her husband, but the guards and Aaron were making sure that did not happen! They blocked her and grabbed her, pulling her back every time she tried to sprint closer!


"If you go in there, it's just going to be another distraction for Flag. You don't want that." Aaron tried to reason.

Harley was not happy with just standing around, but Aaron had a point. If she was in the line of danger, her husband would be more distracted. And.. he had Loki. Maybe?? Maybe there was some good in that guy....


She melted against Ivy, really glad that she had her best friend there for the support. It was soothing. "I swear if he dies before this vacation is over... I'm gonna kill 'im!" She huffed, angry, but the fear was evident in her tone.

Then, the attacker stood up, towering over Flag and Loki in the ocean. Harley blinked in surprise. "King Shark??!"

Loki came on to the scene just as the shark stood up. That was unexpected. Clearly this wasn't a normal shark. He used his scepter to shoot out a pulse that he hoped would knock the shark backwards away from Flag.

Suddenly he found a bleeding girl in his arms. He gave Flag a nod and hurried to Aaron because he had no idea where the infirmary was.

She needs a doctor, fast. He told Aaron. It obvious that the child needed help But he thought it was worth mentioning. Loki placed the little girl in Aaron's arms. He pulled the glowing blue pearl out of his scepter and held it to the girl's injury. He couldn't give her a new arm, but this could stop the bleeding giving her chance.

Ivy was also trying to hold Harley back. There was no point in her getting eaten too. Then the shark stood up and Ivy looked up at the thing with mouth open in shock. She heard Harley call him king shark and then she remembered the guy. That's right, he was part of that suicide squad. it looked like King Shark had gone off his rocker compleatly.

I think Mr Shark is in a bad mood.

River was extra eager, and was quick to grab the little device from her dad, and just as quick to claim the dragon game!! Star just rolled her eyes at her sister, but honestly, one game was just as good as the other to her. She would see what the Mario thingy was all about....

Ally was hopeful that it would indeed keep the little ones busy. And they wouldn't have any more late visits from someone needing her husband's help. She was counting down the minutes until Flag returned. Of course it had been mentioned that Jesse could help out if needed, and she was planning on having Digger ask him to cover at least a few of the days so he could rest and have family time. She spared an apologetic smile over at Frost, knowing the woman probably wanted to go home.


"I'm sure he'll fall asleep soon. Or if you don't mind staying the night, the couch lets out into a bed. I can get you a pillow and blanket. And help yourself to the fridge whenever you want."

Blaze was indeed fighting sleep, but was oh so happy with the little ice pony! He gave Frost a one armed hug, hugging the little sculpture against him with his other arm. "I'm gonna name her Snugglebutt!"

Dwight was happy for his son. He knew how much it bothered him that Mikko had sent him home earlier. This was a good thing. He ruffled Angel's hair before he skipped off. "Have fun."He followed him to the door, waving at Vic, which Vic returned before taking Angel's hand, smiling at the boy.


"I'm sure everything will be fine. You two have a good night." He told the two then looked down at Angel. "You ready, little man?"

'Friend' was definitely a stretch, but yeah.. they had both gotten older. The gang life was dead. There was no longer Turks and Dragons, just people trying to survive. But, the way the guy interacted with his daughter softened his resolve.

"Nah, man. Keep your potato." He told the guy, and looked at Lydia. "You cool with him coming in?" Because how she felt mattered. This was her home too, after all.

The guy didn't actually seem that bad and Gabe knew him so if he was a friend of Gabe's he was a friend of hers.

Course he can come in. She motioned for Rackett to come inside.

Rackett turned to Troy and thanked him for the food and showing him around then went inside Gabe's house.

You guys have really done well for yourselves on this farm. Troy told me that there are some meat eaters here to watch out for.

Lydia nodded. Yeah, some zombies, vampires and werewolves. But they all mostly keep to the farmed meat from Sanctuary or go out hunting for Reapers. So no worries.

Rackett nodded at that and took a seat at the kitchen table. Lydia got to work to cook a quick dinner for everyone. Aaliyah sat next to Rackett making herself comfortable. How do you know my dad?

We go way back. And he would leave it at that. the little girl didn't need to know details.

yeah I'll stay the night. Frost was happy to have the invite to stay. She hated to make Blaze sad by leaving.

Tina grabbed a pokemon game and started to play. But she was getting tired soon it would be time for bed.

Digger was happy that the kids seemed content with their games.

You girls have an hour. Then it's time for bed.

Frost smiled at Blazed. That is a fabulous name.
