Life goes on (a year after immortal beginnings. )

Alyce wondered if Wade was really concerned for the newcomer. The guy was such a good man. "If you wanted to see him to the farm, I would understand. We are not going anywhere." She told Wade.


Zane smiled brightly at Wade's offer and he gently hugged his new best friend, nodding happily. "She can spend the night with me?'


It really warmed Alyce's heart to hear her son being verbal. It wasn't something he often did. Wade, and the little dog had been good for him.

Mikko walked inside her home and found Thorn. She let out a relived sigh seeing that someone was with her kids.

I am so sorry. Thank you for staying with the kids. I owe you. Digger wants me to clean his roof off. But it can wait till Vic comes back.

She pulled Thorn into a tight hug.

What would we do without you?

Immortals. That was...crazy! He wouldn't ask too many questions about that it sounded complicated. But when he spotted Donnie he looked over at Troy.

I see you guys also have giant turtles. Do you...Do you eat them? Because why else would a large turtle be walking around. Though...it was wearing clothes. So maybe it was a pet?

Ivy would take Aaron up on the offer to hang out and rest for a while. She would also check out their crops. Before she could express any of that to Aaron she heard a squeal call her name.

She looked over and spotted Harley coming over.

Harley! You're alive! She gave her friend a one arm hug.

Have you heard from the others? Frost? King shark....Digger. She said Digger with a bit of bite. She got along with most people from the suicide squad but Digger rubbed her the wrong way.

Though she herself was never part of the squad, they didn't trust her enough she guessed, she knew everyone and considered some of them friends, like Harley.

I'm sure he'll find the place. Anyway, unless you're tired of me. i'm not ready to leave just yet. I'm having a great time with all of you.

Wade knelt down and ruffled Zane's hair. Yep she can stay the night with you. I fully trust you to take good care of her.

He stood back up and grabbed a bottle of water.

later I'll go look for some parts from abandon houses. Wood, hardware. We'll need nails and all that boring stuff. I would like to get building by tomorrow. I know a guy that can draw out some plans I can follow. He said talking about Ezra. Hopefully the kid would be willing to help him.

Angel nodded. He hoped that it was true that he would be able to spend the day tomorrow with his mom. He walked inside the house without saying a word.

Sherry felt bad for the little boy, Dwight was a very present father but the little boy wanted his mother.

Hopefully tomorrow things aren't so crazy. Angel needs Mikko more in his life. I know she has a lot on her plate. but, hopefully she can spare a little more time to Angel in the future.

Harley wrapped her arms around Ivy but was mindful of the little plant, not wanting to crush him. She was just so happy!! After a moment and finally collecting herself, Harley reluctantly released her friend and met her gaze, still smiling from ear to ear. Ivy asked about the old gang and Harley was happy that she would have some positive news to give her long lost friend.

"Frost and Boomer are back at the farm!" She told her, but then realized that Ivy knew nothing about the farm. "That's our community. We're just here for a little vacation. Flag and me." Oh yeah, Ivy had missed out on a lot! "We're together.. ain't that crazy? He's still an asshole though..." She teased quietly.

"Deadshot is at the farm, too. And Bloodsport and a few others. No word from King Shark. I'm sure he's thrivin' somewhere.  I know Boomer will be glad to see you!" She teased, gently hugging her friend again. "So how have you been? You stayin' somewhere??"


Flag was keeping back for now, knowing how excited Harley was to see her friend. He would go and greet her once some of the excitement died down. Aaron joined him, deciding to give the girls a moment before taking Ivy to retrieve the things she had requested, and showing her to a cabin for the night, or longer if she so wished. It put him at ease knowing that Harley, and possibly Flag knew the newcomer.

"I take it she's a friend of yours? She's trustworthy?"

Flag gave a half nod. Flag hadn't been anyone's favorite person back in the day, but Ivy wasn't his enemy, either. "It's been awhile, but we all go way back. Just don't piss her off and you'll be fine. Be nice to your plants. She's a literal tree hugger. She takes mother nature pretty serious."

Aaron chuckled quietly and nodded at that. "Noted. But something tells me she'll go wherever Harley goes. They seem pretty close."

Three little ones. That was a lot!! But Thorn was doing his best. Luckily only one seemed to be crying, he wasn't sure who it was, but he bounced the little one in his arms until the baby calmed down, then returned him.. or her... to their crib. Hopefully everyone else stayed asleep!! He was relieved to see Mikko, sparing her a little smile and returning the hug, giving her a squeeze. She was probably the only person, aside from Sam, that he would ever give a hug.

Her comment earned a quiet chuckle. "Well I'm sure some people would sleep better without me." He winked.


"It's not a problem. They didn't need to be alone. You would do the same for me." He told her.

"If you need to go take care of that right now, I can stay a little longer.." He offered, figuring she would want to go ahead and get that taken care of before the smell of death brought the Screamers back.

When Angel left, Vic stood back up, frowning, but nodded in understanding of what Sherry was saying. He felt bad, but they just couldn't trust the little boy unattended around the infants. Though, he felt it wasn't his place to tell Sherry that. He was the outsider in all of this. Angel wasn't his. He knew that mentioning that Angel had bitten Aaliyah in the past was not a discussion he should be having. That was between Mikko, Gabriel, Dwight and Sherry.


"She wants to spend time with him and it will happen. Trust me, she loves him. We both do. Today just wasn't a good day with the screamers and all." He told her.

Dwight had been taking a nap, but woke up hearing Sherry and Vic chatting. He exited the bedroom just in time to see his very upset son passing him by. Why was he home? Wasn't he spending time with his mom?  He scooped Angel up and gave him a gentle hug.


"Why the sad face?"

Troy chuckled at that as he led the new guy around the farm, pointing out structures and explaining what everything was. The barn that had been converted to a meeting hall and hosted big holiday dinners. The smoke houses and storage buildings where the coolers and meat and produce was kept. The houses and occupants...

"Nah, man. The Turtles aren't for eating. They're mutants and sentient. We have three of them. That one is Donnie... or Donatello. He's smart and shit. Invents stuff and helps in the infirmary. He's the nice one. His brother Raph can be mean, but a damn good warrior. And Raph's teenage daughter, Jade. She helps out in the gardens and also a damn good fighter, though she would rather be working with those little bee creatures..." He explained as one of the little bee dragons flew out and landed on the new guy's hand, peering up at him with those big black eyes.


"Those things are pretty peaceful as long as you don't try to hurt them. They make a damn good honey."

Alyce was secretly glad that Wade wasn't going to leave in order to show the new guy to the farm. She honestly didn't care what happened to the human, but knew that Wade had a good grasp on humanity. She smiled at him, watching him interact with her son. This was a good thing, though she was trying not to get too attached just yet. She had not been given a lot of reasons to trust in good things. Maybe Wade could turn that all around.


Zane smiled and gave Wade a hug.


"Well tomorrow I could go with you to look for the 'boring stuff', if you would like." She offered, but knew that she would have to take her son with them. But, he could stay in the vehicle with his new little semi furry friend.

Angel sat on the floor still pouting.

Mom sent me back home. I don't think she likes me. She's too busy with the other babies.

Of course this wasn't the case. and if Mikko knew that's how her little boy felt she would have brought him back to her place and spent all the time with him.

But Angel didn't understand. He was sad and felt unwanted.

Mikko thought it over. The babies were sleeping, Vic should be home soon. So she gave Thorn another hug.

Ok I'll be quick.

Mikko hurried out the house and went to Digger's place. She used a bail of hay to leap onto the roof and start to toss the body parts off the roof.


Inside the house Frost heard the thumps on the roof. She didn't know it was just Mikko and hugged Blaze against her.

Digger walked in just then. It's just Mikko. she's cleaning up. No monsters.

It was good to hear that the others were alive. It seemed everyone from the prison escaped. But hearing she was with Flag caught her off guard.

You and Flag? Well. I'm sure he's better then that clown. I've been around. Mostly jumping from one place to another. But a farm sounds nice. Must have a big garden. Oh this is Dewy. He's a mix of fly trap and a cobra lily.

Of course Dewy was spliced with other things to make him a little more sentient, But it would get complicated to try to explain all that so she kept it simple.

Dewy snapped at a passing bug catching it from the air and eating it.

Rackett nodded at that then he remembered something. something from before the zombies took over. In new york there were turtles beating up the gangs. These couldn't be the same turtles could they? Turtles did live a long time so maybe.

Rackett's days of gang banging was long gone. he was an old man now. Well into his 50's he kept fit though knowing that being fit was important for survival.

This is a really interesting place. Turtles, immortals, a blue lady. Blue lady is kinda hot though. Are all the women here attractive? Not that I'm looking for a wife or anything. But you know...It's been a while since I had a lady.

After getting a tour of the place he felt his stomach rumble.

What kind of grub you guys have? I see a chicken. A healthy one.

Better than the clown. Harley gave a sad sort of smile at that, deciding not to tell her about the Joker.. at least not right now, anyway. This was a happy moment and she was going to keep it that way!


"Yeah, much better. I needed some stability in my life for once, you know?" Or maybe just someone that wasn't abusive and manipulative....

She smiled at the plant and gave it a little pat on top of the 'head' and a scratch under it's little 'chin'..."Nice to meet you, Dewy!" The thing was cute, in a creepy kind of way.


"Well, if you would like a more permanent place to call home, we'd welcome you at the farm with open arms..." Because it would be nice to have her friend back! Sure, she had friends at the farm but mostly guys and she knew how much Flag hated that. But, Ivy was one of her favorite people and she couldn't let her slip out of her life again!

Dwight took a seat on the floor with his son, frowning at his words. He didn't know the full story, but figured Mikko had just gotten busy with the newborns. Babies were challenging, but his son was too young to understand that.


"Yer mother loves you very much. New babies are a lot of work. She's probably tired, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't like you or want you there..." He reached over and ruffled his son's hair. "You hungry?" Because maybe some food would make him feel better. Though, he would make it a point to talk to Mikko to let her know just how their son was feeling.

"Yeah, most of the women here are hot. I think most are taken, though. Except maybe Rhea and Mystique. They may be gay, though..." He told the guy, and noticed him staring down that chicken. Those birds seemed to be on everyone's menu.


"The chickens are off limits... for now. We just got a pair, so hopefully in a few months we'll have more. And eggs. But, we have plenty of vegetables and seafood. And... human meat if you're into that sort of thing. We have to keep it on hand for the immortals."


He led the guy to a small, one bedroom house that had gone unclaimed due to it's size. It would be perfect for a single person, though. "I know this one's available if you don't wanna be a roommate with anyone. You wanna check it out first, or go grab some grub?"

The immortals are humans, That was a little unsettling.

So what happens when you run out of meat for them? do you sacrifice someone at the farm? He sure hoped not.

Food sounds good. I'll pass on the meat though.

At the mention of food Angel finally gave a little smile and nodded.

Vic wouldn't let me eat the chicken.

Ivy was all smiles so was Dewy. The thought of living on a farm seemed appealing to her.

I'll relax on the beach for today, but tomorrow I would love to see that farm! Also I told Aaron I looked at his crops. So I need to do that. But, right now Dewy and I really need to water and food.

She looked up at Flag and gave him a little wave.

You two have fun, not too much fun don't need little Flags running around...Unless you two already have little ones.

"They usually just hit Sanctuary up whenever meat gets low..." Troy told the guy, deciding to leave out his own speculations that with humans growing scarce, the immortals may soon resort to eating them. He figured it was only a matter of time before what non dead still existed would soon be divided between immortals and humans. It seemed inevitable.

Troy led Rackett to the cabin where the food was kept, opening the door for him. There was two large freezers. One held the seafood that Oceanside had so graciously given them, the other was for the human meat. Large crates of produce lined the walls, along with canned goods that Jade had canned in her spare time, and jars of honey from her little bee dragon hive.


"Grab what you need. That freezer is the morgue..." He told him, pointing to the one that harbored the human flesh.

Vic really did feel bad for Angel. "I'll see you tomorrow." He told Sherry, figuring there was nothing else he could do or say to make the situation any better. And, he knew that he was needed at home. As far as he knew, his babies were still home alone.

He headed home, not expecting to see Thorn of all people, trying to take care of the babies. Everyone was asleep except for Draven, and the little one had made a mess of his diaper. Thorn looked panicked and grossed out, but was trying his best to hold his composure as he held the little one up...

Yes, he had a newborn of his own, and he had changed his fair share of diapers, but it was his kid!! He was relieved to see Vic. He rushed over to the guy and handed him his son.

"Right on time! I dunno what you feed those kids but.... ewww..."

Vic chuckled as he took Draven. [color=red]"Breast milk?'[color]

"No, that kid's shitter is broken. Anyway, gotta get home... bye! " With that, he headed for the door.

"Thanks for babysitting..." Vic managed before Thorn disappeared out the door. He chuckled to himself and got to work changing the little one.

Harley was excited!! Hopefully Ivy would love the farm and would want to stay. It would be great to have her around again.

"Hey, Ivy. Good to see you." Flag returned the wave. He knew how much this meant to Harley, and was glad that Ivy had managed to survive in this messed up world.

Harley chuckled at Ivy's comment. She wanted to tell her friend all about her kids, but understood she had been on the road for a while and needed food and water and rest. "We got soooooo much catchin' up to do after you're all fed and watered and rested!" She told her with a huge smile.


Aaron waited patiently, but as soon as Ivy was ready, he would make sure that her needs were taken care of. "Whenever you're ready. No rush."

So, they had chickens now? Dwight needed to get out more. He chuckled at his son and stood, offering him a hand. "Probably need to let the chicken make little chickens so we have them in the future." He explained, but knew all of that would go out the window whenever instincts kicked in.

"Let's go get some grub."
