Life goes on (a year after immortal beginnings. )

Star giggled at Digger's comment about them not being old. Poor guy was delusional. Probably because he was ooooold.

"I'm helping you lead, remember? So it's my job to make sure you sleep...." She spared him a cute smile, hoping to throw off any suspicions the guy may have about why she reeeeeally wanted him to go to bed...

Harley happily accepted the beer. She popped the tab and took a nice long swig. This was nice. Just being able to do what she wanted without worrying about getting too drunk to be around her kids. "It's ..complicated. I'm sure he could turn me, but it's gonna be harder now that I'm immune to him. I think dyin' may be involved..." She told her friend, taking another sip. Man, this beer really hit the spot!

"The government and the scientists at the CDC treated Supes pretty shitty, so maybe he's not so quick to help now. I dunno. Jon, his son did tell us it was mainly the kryptonite that's bein' used. Like.. the scientists don't want 'im wipin' out the zombies. You would think they would want this mess cleared up.." Then she mentioned Batman and she frowned a little.

"Batzy is still alive. Well, kinda. He's one of those things.. but much worse. I think Bishop may have 'im.. unless he got away. Maybe we should go free him..." And Harley was not sure why she thought that was a good idea, but no one deserved to be a prisoner of Bishop. Not even the Bat.


And Ivy's last comment earned a little smile. She toasted her with her now almost empty beer can. "Heh, we could still take over the world. Wouldn't be that hard now, I don't think. We could feed the zombies to your zombie plants!" She knew how much her friend wanted to turn the planet into a plant's paradise. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad, but of course some humans would have to be permitted to live. Of course she knew Ivy wasn't as fond of humans as she was, but she had kids and friends and a husband that needed to stick around.

And Troy was aware that Mystique was one of those that didn't really value human life. It was okay. Everyone was entitled to their feelings and and he was sure the woman had her reasons, just as he had his reasons to not trust certain immortals. He waved at her anyway, not really expecting Rhea to stick around.

He was quiet for a moment, then shrugged at her question. "I dunno. I guess when you survive hell you really don't like feeling confined. I don't feel like that when I'm up here. I mean, sure.. I'm inside walls, but I don't see them. And, I feel like I'm actually doing something that matters up here, you know? And yeah, I like spending time with Rain but... it's complicated. I mean, I don't know how she really feels." He told her. Sharing his feelings had never really been his strong point. "What about you? Still trying to get your hooks in Flag?" He asked with a little grin.

Vic stood up and took Mikko's hand with a grin. "So what story will we be hearing tonight?" He asked sweetly, maybe just as excited about the fact that Mikko would be reading to them as Angel was!

it would be easy. Unless the government went after us. The rich and powerful that haven't died are coming together to try and restart the world. Right now there's a city called Rapture that the government built. I've seen pictures. The place is beautiful. But word on the street is it's not the best place to live. I guess they're still working out the kinks.

But really humans have gone so long without order or law, I don't think the government can come back in.

Ivy sipped her beer and fed Dewy another shrimp before popping one in her own mouth.

It's getting late. I think I'm going to head to bed. It's been days since I've been in an actual bed. You should check on your man. The bite was pretty nasty. Mr magic guy might have slowed down the bleeding but Flag wasn't looking too good.

Digger nodded and ruffled her hair.

That's very responsible. Ok girls. Head you your rooms. You can play your games in there, Don't stay up too late.

tina looked up at her new parents. So there was no bedtime? Awesome! She grabbed River's hand and with her gameboy in the other hand she ran off with her sister to their bedroom.

Rhea grinned and nodded.

Yeah I'm still after Flag. But maybe I should let him be. I don't know. Flag and Harley's little vacation will either help their relationship or hurt them. So when they come back i'll see if I still try to get with him. I mean. I don't want just a hook up. I really like the guy, I want a relationship. Harley is a pain in the ass to get rid of though.

Rain was so tired of Troy always being up on that tower. She wasn't even sure if she was in a serious relationship with him or not. It was late, She was tired. But instead of going to bed alone again, Rain went out and climbed the guard tower.

Can I join you two? I didn't want to go to bed alone.

She looked out into the woods. She could hear the sounds of crickets, frogs and every now and than a screamer.

Scary out there in the dark.

Once they were in the bedroom Mikko laid Angel down and pulled the sheets over him.

Let's see what books we have....Alice in wonderland. This was my favorite story when I was a kid.

Mikko took the book off the shelf and slipped in bed beside Angel.

Ruby was sleeping in her crib, Sam was in the shower getting ready for bed. She had a cassette tape playing on an old radio. She was listening to Alice Cooper and singing along to the song Poison. She didn't have the best voice but she had the passion.

Once the girl and her mother was taken care of and settled in, Cindy went over to check out Flag.

How are you feeling? She asked getting a closer look at his eyes. then looking over the rest of his body.

Do you need blood? We have some human blood in the fridge and also one more pint of Mikko's blood.

Negan had went inside with the kids. He put them all to bed then grabbed a beer and took a seat on the couch to wait for Cindy.

"Ooooh, that's one of my favorites, too." Vic smiled and peeled out of his shirt, then climbed into the bed on the other side of Mikko, pulling the covers around them all.

Flag had made it back to the cabin, and had managed to change out of his soaked pants and into something dry before Cindy arrived. He was sitting on the couch, trying to compose himself from.. whatever this was that was plaguing him. He could see Cindy's silhouette and the blurry colors of her clothes, hair and features. Her scent seemed even stronger, probably his senses trying to make up for the lack of another sense. The black veins were still prominent beneath his glowing eyes. The wound had indeed healed, but nasty bruising had been left where there was once deep lacerations.


At her question, he hesitated. She had mortal patients that needed her care. He did not want to add more to her plate, but he knew this was something that probably wasn't going to just go away with some sleep.

"I've been better. But, I've been worse, too." He told her. "Been awhile since I've felt nauseas .. can't say I miss that." He managed a weak grin.


"I think King Shark may have some venom of his own now. Otherwise I would have healed and been fine." He told her. Maybe Mikko's blood could have helped him, but hearing that they only had one pint left, he decided against suggesting that. "You may have another emergency and need that for your people. Maybe regular blood if you have enough to spare." And even asking for that made him feel bad.

Harley wrinkled her nose at that. Just the name Rapture City was oozing with problems. Maybe The Reapers had left a bad taste in her mouth and she wouldn't be so quick to trust another community. It seemed that Ivy was ready for bed and her friend was right, she needed to check on her husband. She had in fact noticed that he didn't seem a hundred percent, but he was immortal. Loki had healed him. He was fine. Or, at least she thought.


"Yeah, I better go do that." She told Ivy, scooting out of her chair and moving closer to give her long lost friend a hug. "We'll catch up more tomorrow, and maybe take a trip to the farm so you can meet the kids and see everyone! I can't wait to see Boomer's face! First Frost, now you!"

Troy chuckled at Rhea. He wished that he had some advice to give, but relationships were certainly not his forte, obviously. But what he did know is what he had observed between Harley and Flag. That was not a healthy relationship.

"Yeah, Harley is something else. She's overly jealous of Flag... poor bastard is probably paying for every man that ever did her wrong before. Or, for what the Joker did to her."


They were soon joined by Rain, and he couldn't help but feel a little guilty when she mentioned not wanting to go to bed alone. "You know you're always welcome." He told her, and would have excused Rhea to go home if she wanted, but didn't want it to seem like he was running her off.


"I can get Jesse up here and go home with you if you're tired..." He told Rain.

But Thorn thought Sam had the perfect voice. Hell, everything about her was perfect. He quietly stripped down and climbed into the shower behind her, wrapping his arms around her. He pressed soft kisses against the back of her neck and shoulders.

We have more then enough to spare. I'll be right back.

Cindy hurried out of the cabin and back to the infirmary. She quickly checked on her other patents then grabbed two bags of blood and warmed them a bit.

She then jogged back to Flag's cabin and placed the bags in his hands.

There I hope it helps. I'm sure you want your privacy so I'm going to head back to the infirmary. If you need anything else just come get me.

With that she left the cabin so that Flag could feed in peace.

Phew. Star was relieved that Digger seemed to be less suspicious. She grabbed her game and headed into the bedroom to wait for the adults to head to bed. River, oblivious to her sister's plan headed off to her room with Tina, happy that they were being allowed to stay up and play their games! Hopefully her mom didn't find out!


Ally spared Digger a grin and took his hand, tugging him off to their own bedroom. "I finally get you all to myself!"

Ivy gave Harley a tight hug and even kissed her cheek before letting her go. Hearing that Harley wanted to catch up more and head to the farm made Ivy feel a little guilty. Weren't she and Flag there on a vacation? She didn't want to be the reason that vacation was cut short.

But she kept her thoughts to herself and walked Harley out of her cabin.

Night, Hopefully King shark doesn't come out at night and start hunting us down. Maybe that Loki guy had the right idea of leaving.

Sam smiled when Thorn joined her. She leaned back against him, turning her head to catch his lips in a deep kiss. This shower was about to get X rated.

Digger watched the girls run off then turned his full attention to Ally. He squeezed her hand and pulled her close to him catching her lips in a kiss. He then scooped her up and carried her to the bedroom.

Once in the bedroom he laid Ally on the bed, then stripped out of his cloths and slid in the bed beside her lightly tugging at her cloths to get them off and kissing her as he did so.

Rain sat on Troy's lap.

You don't have to give up your favorite spot for me. I'll just join you up here more often. It's peaceful I see why you like it.

Rhea was happy that Rain decided to join Troy. They really needed more time together. She stood up and handed Rain her gun. I'm going to leave you two alone. Don't do anything to naughty up here. She said with a little grin.

Rain watched Rhea leave the tower then turned back to Troy. You don't mind that I stay up here with you, do you?

Gabriel gladly took the beer, and was content with going last getting soup. His daughter's comment earned a quiet chuckle.

"Not that we advise kickin' Angel. I mean, do what you got to do if yer attacked, but you'll have to deal with his mother." He told Rackett. But it seemed that Angel only attacked other children. And hopefully that would be coming to an end soon. Hopefully Mikko would be able to get through to the kid.

Rackett didn't know who the mother was but way Gabe talked about her she sounded dangerous. He took a bite of the stew and gave Lydia a thumbs up.

This is good. Attractive and can cook. You better keep a hold of her. Women are becoming scarce. Hell people in general are.

Aaliyah slowly ate her food. She figured that as soon as she was done she would be told to go to bed and she wanted to stay up and talk to the new guy! Everyone just has to make more babies!

Rackett chuckled at the little girl and nodded. Yep. there's probably a lot more humans in the world then we think though. I mean, we just know what's in our little area. But the whole world is going through this. I bet Japan is already back on their feet. They seem to have their shit together.

We should go to Japan.

We would need a boat.

Oooooh we can steal a big boat! We could be pirates!
