Life goes on (a year after immortal beginnings. )

Alyce was also enjoying the company. It had been so long since she had actually just sat and talked to someone for so long. She had not done this since her transformation. She had been so angry and bitter and full of rage. This was a nice change of pace.


"Hard wood would probably be easier... And she smiled when he mentioned them going out together to collect things as sort of a date. "I would like that." She told him.


Zane rolled on the ground, giggling as the dog licked him. He gave her a gentle hug. Alyce smiled. "Indeed. He has found his best friend." And she wondered how her son was going to take it when Wade left and took the dog with him. Hopefully he would understand.

Ally frowned at the fact that Baxter was helping Tina with the bombs. She would have to have a talk with the guy. She was still a child, after all. She worried about the explosives and knew that Flag would not approve.


"You kids stay inside. Your dad will get things handled. Maybe you all can color some pictures until Digger returns."


River wrinkled her nose. "That's boring. Where's your sense of excitement?"

If you can catch it that would be a hell of a lot of food for us. Anyway I'll let you go get settled in. yell if you need anything.

Mondo flashed a smile and ran off to grab his surfboard.

Angel was chasing chickens, Screamers were...screaming. It all felt very over whelming. And her babies were alone in the house! She turned to Vic who was holding a squerming Angel.

If you like you can bring him back to Sherry and Dwight. I wont be long but someone needs to be with the babies.

Don was already picking up the dead screamers and a shovel. He headed out the gate.

Mikko gave Vic a kiss and hurried after Donnie.


Angel was not happy. He struggled at first, but then gave in and pouted.

With his orders given Digger headed home. Honestly it was a point now that he didn't give a damn what Thorn or Mikko did as long as no one was getting killed. But he had to maintain some kind of order and at least look like he gave a damn.

He entered his home and headed to the kitchen.

What's this about bombs?

Tina raised her hand and waved it around. I'm an explosive expert.

Digger ruffled Tina's hair and plopped down in a seat. I'm sure you are. But let's not tell the whole farm that you are keeping explosives in the house.

Tina nodded at that.

Digger looked over at Ally and reached out to her to pull her on his lap. Anyway, everything is fine now. Mikko is taking care of the screamers. I have to get on the roof and clean it before it starts to stink up the place.

Frost rocked Blaze in her arms. Hear that little man? It's all safe now.

Wade nodded in agreement.

Carpet is hard to get pet hair out of. I assume Zane would want his own buddy. He could babysit Dogpool for a night if he wants. I feel bad taking the dog away from him.

Wade was attached to the ugly pup but it seemed Zane was also growing attached. He hated to take Zane's only friend away from him.

Wade and Alyce's peaceful ,oment was intrupted by a high pitch scream from Rackett. He came screaming for help and running right to the couple and little boy.

Wade was quick to draw his swords and even Dogpool growled at the man.

They're after me! The guys said as he panted.

Who?

Wade's question was answered by two screamers running up behind Rackett. But sensing Alyce they backed off. Noticing that they seemed to be scared of the people Rackett had found that made the human scared.

Wh...Why are they backing off? What are you people? Please don't eat me!

Rackett was holding a gun but it was empty and useless. Dogpool barked at the man keeping himself between the stranger and Zane.

Ally was relieved that her husband was home safe. She sat in his lap and wrapped her arms around him."Maybe Mikko should be the one to remove... whoever from the roof. If those things see you touching their food, it probably won't go well..." She told him, giving him a squeeze.


Star was hoping the adults would soon become distracted. She needed to find the ocean and let her dad know what was going on! That's what a good second in command would do, right?


Blaze returned Frost's squeeze, happy to hear that it was safe now. The woman certainly made him feel better! "No more monsters?"

Vic nodded at Mikko. He hated to cut Angel's visit short, but there was so much going on and quite honestly, he didn't trust the boy around the small babies. He returned Mikko's kiss then headed off to take the child back to his parents.

"Maybe tomorrow you can visit a little longer." He told the boy.


It was a short walk to Dwight and Sherry's house. Vic shifted Angel to one arm and knocked against the door...

Well, Thorn was about to follow orders and go home, but then realized that Vic and Mikko were BOTH out here. Which meant Mikko's babies were all alone. That wasn't good. Babies were needy. He sighed.


"Jesus christ, people..." He huffed, then headed off towards Mikko's house to watch after the little ones until one of their parents could return home.


"Digger said to go home." Troy called after him. Thorn shot the guy the old middle finger salute before disappearing into Mikko's house.

Indeed, it was obvious that her son was already attached to the little dog. She knew it would be hard for him when Wade left with the animal, but she knew that Wade as attached, too. "I'm sure he would love to keep her for a night..." And maybe it was time for her son to have a pet of his own, because he had no friends and he needed the interaction.


Their moment was soon interrupted and Alyce jumped up, on the defensive. The screamers had never really been a problem for her and backed off, but this human... she did NOT trust humans! And this one was scared, which made him dangerous. Zane picked up his little doggy protector and ducked behind his mother, peeping out behind her....


"These are not the woods to be wandering around, human..." She hissed, fangs bared...

"I wonder if Shark tastes like sushi?" Harley mused out loud, and waved at Mondo as he left. Her attention shifted to Flag. She really wanted to go enjoy a few hours on the beach, but also wanted to go check out their little cabin that would be all theirs for the whole week!

"Maybe after we unpack, we can test out the integrity of the bed." She gave a little playful brow wiggle.


Flag managed a little smile at that, having no idea that Harley was really, reeeeeally hoping to get pregnant on this trip. She had promised the kids she would bring them something back, after all! Surely they would love the news of a little brother or sister!

Rackett slowly started to back away. His hands up to show he wasn't a threat.

Wade felt bad for the guy and after some thought gave him directions to the farm.

I have a feeling you're right. And rackett made a fast retreat heading to the farm.

Wade watched the man go and shook his head. Poor guy he's not going to make it to the farm. Those things are hungry.

His looked down at Zane and smiled.

How would you like to babysit Dogpool for the night. I can see she really likes you.

Angel sighed. His mom was always too busy to be with him. He frowned but gave a little nod.

Sherry answered the door and was surprised to see Vic with Angel. He didn't bite one of the babies did he?

Because why else would they be bringing him home early.

Digger never thought of that. He agreed.

She's burying those dead things with Don. When she comes back I'll get her up there.

He looked over at Star.

What do you think we should do, second in command?

No more monsters. And you don't have to worry. I can freeze them all.

Frost told Blaze and flexed her arms before giving him another squeeze.

If we start having problems with screamers maybe Mikko should move. It's not fair to ask her to do that but we have to think of everyone right?

Ivy had been living in random communities. Never staying long, none of the places she lived in was a right fit for her and her plants. So she was once again on the road. She had a beat up car that was running low in gas. In the passenger seat was a potted plant that looked like something out of the little shop of horrors.

With little choice she pulled down the next drive way that she spotted. Hopefully whoever lived at this little beach town could give her some gas for her car and she would be on her way, little did she know that her old friend, Harley was at the beach.

She pulled up to the gate and turned the car off. With a loud sigh Ivy stepped out of the car and grabbed her plant that she named Dewy.

Ivy knew she didn't exactly look like a human. She was fine with that as she consider herself more plant than human. Her light green skin did sometimes tend to make people turn her away. She supposed it was because they were scared she was infected or something.

Walking up to the gate of the Oceanside she gave a sweet smile and a wave to the guards.

Hello. Could your town spare a little gas? Maybe some water for my friend here?

The woman was green. Needless to say, the guards were a little reluctant, but, they had seen mutants and metas before. Besides, she was speaking and didn't seem infected. Still, they needed to be cautious. They radioed Aaron, who had not made it too far, explaining the situation, informing him that they had a 'green woman' at the gates seeking assistance.


Aaron was quick to head to the gate, and the guards told him of her request. He gave a nod, instructing them to open the gates for her.

"I believe we can help you." He told her as he gestured her inside. The plant was a little intimidating, but this dying world was full of diversity, as odd as that may seem.

Ivy's worry melted away when Aaron invited her in. She walked beside the man taking in the town's view.

Thank you so much. Dewy and I have been on the road for hours.

The plant seemed to 'look' at Aaron and even smile.

I don't have much to repay you with. I can help with any crops you might have. I'm something of a plant specialist.

Following Wade's directions, Rackett finally came to the gates of the farm. He looked up at the two women that were guarding the gates and flashed them a smile.

Morning! A man in a red suit told me to come here.

Rhea and Mystique looked at each other. Must mean Wade. We should ask Digger.

Mystique nodded. Wait there. She told the stranger and climbed down the tower to fetch Digger.

Digger was having another beer when there was a knock at his door. He let out a soft growl in annoience, Was this what Flag had to put up with every day? No wonder the man was always in a bad mood.

Digger answered the door and Mystique explained the situation to him.

Ok. I'll be back. He told the girls and once again left the house. He walked to the gate.

I'm Digger I hear Wade told you to come here. If he trust you then we'll give you a chance here. You will have to see the doctor so she can check you for scratches or bites.

yeah that's fine. I'll do about anything to get out of these woods. Those damn screamer things have been hunting me down.

Digger opened the gate with a chuckle. you'll love it here then.


Once Rackett was inside and the gate closed behind him. Digger brought him to the infiermary to get checked out. Baxter was there and agreed to check him over.

Rackett stripped down to his boxers and after a check up he was deemed not infected.

Welcome to the farm. I never got your name.

Rackett. Well...James. But friends just called me Rackett.

I'll get someone to show you around. Digger motioned for him to follow and found troy. Troy! Can you show our new friend around. Maybe see if there's an extra house he can stay in. If not he'll have to room with someone.

Mikko and Donnie quickly and quietly buried the dead screamers. She thanked the turtle for his help as they walked back to the farm. Once they were back inside Don gave her a hug and went on his way. She was about to head back home to her kids who she hoped wasn't alone when Digger spotted her and waved her over.

She walked over to him, Troy and some new guy.

I need you to clean my roof. I'm afraid if anyone else does it, it wont go over well.

Let me check on my babies and I'll get right on it.

She gave the new guys a smile and ran home.

Rackett was checking Mikko out and smiled back. She's hot.

Troy was bored. Really bored. He had hoped with the Screamer invasion, he would have gotten a little action.. but noooo. Bummer. He was about to offer one of the girls a chance to go home so he could take over guard duty, but then Digger tasked him with another job. A tour guide? Oy. That wasn't his forte, but he gave Digger a nod, then looked the new guy over. He seemed human. Which was good. But, it didn't make him necessarily safe. Jay had been one of the meanest monsters, and he was just a human. Either could do damage with the wrong mindset.


Hearing the guy's comment about Mikko, he smirked a little. "Yeah, that's my MILF. She's old. Really old. She just doesn't look it because she's immortal." He told the guy.


"Come. I'll show you around. I hope you're not afraid of immortals, there's a lot of those around here."

Aaron had to do a double take. Was that plant smiling at him?? He gave an awkward smile back, wondering if maybe he had been out in the sun too long. Ivy offered her services with the plants, and he wasn't sure of her capabilities, but it was nearing the end of the season and the crops were slowing down...

"You don't need to repay, but I mean, if you want to have a look at the crops and maybe give some advice..." He told her as he walked her further inside and towards one of the sheds where they kept canisters of gasoline. He would then get her some fresh water, for herself and her little plant friend.

"If you need to rest for awhile, we can set you up. We're still expanding and building from when the Screamers overtook this place before, so we have some extra houses.." He offered.


Flag and Harley were heading towards their little getaway cabin when Harley caught a glimpse of her long lost friend. She blinked, did a double take, and blinked again! Was it? No.. it couldn't be. But...it was!! A huge smile erupted onto her features and she dropped Flag's hand, rushing over in Ivy and Aaron's direction...


"Oh my God, IVY??!"

Vic really hated that Angel couldn't spend more time with his mom. He knew how this must look to Sherry and Dwight, and even little Angel. "No, he didn't. Things got a little chaotic though. Mikko is dealing with the Screamers right now." He told Sherry and carefully placed Angel on his feet, kneeling in front of him to meet his gaze.

"Tomorrow maybe everything will be quiet and you can spend the whole day with us, okay?"
