Hollow Heroes [Open to all]

" I just said we're not friends. Besides friends don't scare them or threaten to kill them like you did back at the CDC." Mel told him as she tried to back away from the mutant but he wasn't going to give up that easily. He was crazy fast and could really use his speed now along with that tongue now that they weren't in a van.

"I agree," Lilo spoke up gently returning to them all tray of 'goodies' ready handing it to one of Stitches four hands and lifting a penthrox pain relief inhaler stick from the tray for Carl - handing it to Erica figuring she could help calm him and get him to inhale some of the pair relief medicine, smiling at Daryl, "I can see that swollen foot - could be broken metatarsals or phalanges. We'll see to it after the young man Carl here." her smile to Carl was friendly and warm and she hoped had an edge of understanding - after all she and Stitch after all were not strangers to lose in this world they found themselves living in. Choosing not to bring attention to the tears and shaking her head when Stitch went to hug. No fix first hug later.


And only once Carl was not struggling could she and Stitch work, tray on the bed space their six hands quiet deft and practiced at working around each other, Stitch just ripping the clothing open easily -first numbing the gun shot wound to the abdomen with local anesthesia whilst Lilo had been mentioning the girls foot, much more a injury that the graze she sported. Now they were in, cleaning, using dissolvable sutures to pull bleed outs together, silver clamp like scissors clinking and tinkering Stitch had better eye sight that her, but she had a better stitch then he so compensating they were a quick team pulling bullet strewn mess back to some semblance of normal, it helped Stitch had four hands. Though one was rubbing Carl's shoulder gently big black round alien eyes warm as they lift from the task at hands to the stressed youth, " Heegata no feebee," he muttered from time to time before finishing up with Lilo in stitching finally the skin closed. [color:aecd=008B8B]"We finish quick."


Erica meets the one eyed gazed - nodded to Daryl a glance to him, okay she would stay, sides Lilo was probably right and she was going to be a hindrance stumbling and hopping about. Shifting her other hand to accept the pain relief inhaler but laying it on the pillow reaching fingers to gently wiped clean Carl's tears, first one cheek, then the other. "Next time maybe I'll take the lying scum bags eye out." - and! - "Eeeeee!" a squeak then losing any sort of 'badassery' she might have had cause Stitch had leaned over as Lilo was just covering the new closed line of stitches with an antibiotic cream - and licked her hand!!

Lilo giggled moving around the bed to take care of the lacerated right hand, "Don't worry he wont bite."

Like Bruce, Raphael was sure the Crazies were still around. One thing he knew, the insane never died. Some humans were more dangerous than the zombies lurking outside. And it seemed that Bruce was already prepared to take care of Mikko if she turned. Smart man. He certainly understood the need, especially seeing how infatuated Wade was with the woman. He could very easily be one of those that wouldn't take her out if she turned. At least with Supes, he could be subdued with Kryptonite if the virus took him.


"Yeah, I can help you with Wade... if you gotta.. you know.." He told him. "He's gonna be a hard one to deal with though. I mean if he gets too out of control. He can't die...hope you have holdin' cells..." Taking the last drink of his water, he rinsed out the empty glass before putting it away. His brothers would be impressed. It was something he never did back home.


"An'.. you've done plenty. We're all just glad to be someplace safe. To have food.. that's more than enough..."

Carl wanted to struggle, wanted to protest. Sure he was in excruciating pain, but he needed to be out there looking for his father. Still, a small part of him realized that his injuries would slow Daryl down. The smell of blood would attract unwanted attention. It was best go get stitched up before going out there. And it did give him comfort to know that Erica would be there at his side.  He laid there, trying to get his emotions under control, angry for exposing his weakness, but there seemed to be understanding...


Even though the area had been numbed, there was still discomfort, but he didn't wince, only stared blankly at the ceiling as the woman and the little blue Alien worked, feeling the comforting pats of the creature. He gave Erica's hand a small squeeze, conveying his silent 'thank you' for being there and wiping the tears that he felt horrible for shedding....

Daryl hated to leave Carl in such a state, but he felt the kid was in good hands, and having Erica around seemed to calm him. Not wanting to draw more attention to the fact that he was leaving, Daryl slipped out of the makeshift infirmary and began his search for Bruce. After asking around, he was pointed in the right direction.  Apparently...'Superman' had been brought in, along with a new group.


Stepping up to the door, he knocked, hoping it would get the man's attention.......

Toad finally slipped an arm around Mel and pulled her close to him grinning at the other large mutant. She's just shy. We had a bad first meeting, but I hope to have better second on.

He then pressed a slimy kiss against Mel's cheek. Something to remember me by. He told her as he let her go just as Bebop reached out to grab him.

The slim from the kiss would start to eat away at Mel's face. But only in the area of the kiss. It would leave a chemical burn in the shape of Toad's mouth on her cheek, something she will have for life to remember him by. The pain would last for weeks. Water only making the pain worse. Toad knew this of course. So he bowed out, and leaped away and out of the store.

Bruce heard the knocking and stood up excusing himself for a second. He walked to the door and answered it. Hello. Is everything alright? It was always the first thing he asked. Because with so many different people in one place, you never knew what could go wrong.

((ROBBIN))

Robbin had heard that this group was part of the group that had belong with the Maggie woman. So he was quick to leave Lilo and stitch alone for a moment to go to Maggie and tell them that some of her group had arrived. And as expected she was more then excited. Though, the dissapointmeant was obvious when he told her Glenn wasn't among the group.

She was still too weak to leave her bed and see Daryl and Carl but she handed the little girl that she had with her to Robbin. Explaining that the baby was Carl's baby sister.

With a sleeping baby girl in his arms, Robbin hurried back to the kids.

I have someone who would like to meet Carl. He announced as he walked up to them.

Once he was near Carl he pulled the blanket back for the boy to see Judith's little sleeping face.

" That guy is not only gross but he's crazy. He scares me." Mel said but then the stupid kiss started to burn and it felt like acid eating away at her skin and she couldn't help but scream in pain. This was bar none the worst pain she felt in her entire life considering how active she had been while growing up managing to fracture an ankle when she was ten on a dare. The tears streamed down her cheeks which made the pain even worse from the salty tears.

" It hurts make it stop! What did his powers do?!" The young teen screamed in pain wanting nothing more than for it to stop.

Well least the weird dude left. Bebop was about to help Mel pick out something for her to wear so they could get going, not that he was in a rush, but he was getting really tired! But then the screaming started.

Bebop froze, he had no idea what was hurting her, why she was screaming, what the fuck was going on! But then noticed the blood running down the side of Mel's face. He quickly put two and two together and scooped Mel up in his arms.

He turned to Lydia and her brother.

Is there a doctor? A hospital or something here? He asked in a near panic.

" When this pain stops that Toad is gonna pay." Mel said pain in her voice unable to scream now it hurt to much to scream. She couldn't do much she figured touching it would only make it worse tears already proved that and it ate away at her skin and flesh. She was bleeding and couldn't do anything about it other than cry and wait for medical attention.

Daryl was not the type of person to ask anyone for anything, but considering that he had no idea how long he would be out there, and this Bruce guy had so much at his disposal, supplies could certainly mean the difference between life and death. Especially if he found Rick and he wasn't in good shape.



"Things are as good as they can be, man..." He told him, adjusting the crossbow on his shoulder.




"Carl's pretty torn up... he needs his dad..." And Daryl needed his 'brother'. He and Rick had become close over the last couple of years, and Rick had even called him 'brother'. Carl wasn't the only one missing family. "I need to find Rick. I dunno how long that's gonna take, so was hopin' maybe you could give me some supplies...."

Bruce nodded his head. Yeah, what you need? Do you need some man power? He turned to Raph and then glanced at the bathroom door. I think Clark and Lois will be ok alone for a bit. Let's go into the basement and see what we can hook you up with.

Bruce motioned for Raph to follow, he figured it would be a good time to show off his things to his fan while he helped Daryl.

Finally someone pointed Gambit and company to the small 'hospital' area and Gambit, still carrying poor Pete, headed that way with Gwen. Once there Gambit found an empty bed and sat Peter down on it.

Got an injured Metahuman here. That's what they're calling you kids these days right? he asked Pete and ruffled his hair. He took back his staff from Gwen and leaned on it.

Least it's warm in here.

"I dunno how long I'll be out there, so..a backpack if you got it...matches, food..." And anything else that may be useful. A sheet to set up a makeshift tent if that wasn't out of the question. He could goon, but decided to just wait and see what Bruce had to offer.


He stepped out of the way to let Bruce and the big Turtle man take the lead, following in behind them. "I don't wanna put yer men at risk. You'll need 'em here if this place gets ambushed..." Because Daryl knew how this worked. 'Safe places' did not stay that way for long....

Raph followed Bruce out, eager to head down and see what the basement had to offer. Part of him was concerned with leaving an infected Clark alone with Lois, but there had been no concerning sounds coming from the bathroom. Maybe the fact that the guy was an Alien would work in his favor. Though, there was no doubt the guy was terribly sick....

Struggling to compose himself and clinging to Erica's hand like a lifeline, Carl ignored the newcomers, inwardly cursing how he felt so vulnerable with so many around. He was not expecting the big guy to approach, a sleeping bundle held in his arms....


Finally catching a glimpse, Carl's heart practically jumped into his heart... could it be?? And then the man revealed his baby sister's face, causing him to push into a sitting position, disregarding the overwhelming pain from his actions. New tears replaced the ones that Erica had so kindly wiped away and he carefully took Judith in his arms, hugging her gently and burying his face against her tiny shoulder....


"Judith!"


Too overtaken by overwhelming sobs, he could not find his voice to ask how she had gotten here... all that mattered was, he had someone to keep fighting for....

Bruce quickly lead them down to the basement. He opened the heavy metal door and turned on the lights. He then closed the door behind them and lead them down a very long hall. At the end of the hall was another large door, this one was a vault door. Bruce opened that one and let them inside.

The lights turned on lighting up a large room. Weapons hung from the walls. All his signiture weapons and others.

His uniforms, and those of his sidekicks, Robin, Batgirl...Displayed in glass chambers.

There was extra food, flash lights, everything one would need. There was another door to the left. Bruce motioned for them to follow them to the next room. He unlocked that room as well and the lights came on. In here was two black motorbikes, weapons included.

Couldn't save the car sadly. Take whatever you need.

Well, that certainly bummed Casey a little, even if still rather wrapped up in a April hug, simply enjoying the quiet moment, the pair having moved to the door way of their space waiting for Splinter to be ready for them, to catch up - to really be together after so long, so close to him but far at the same time since losing him.

And being away from the turtles.


Equally Splinter was a tad put out too, so long apart from his boys he rather thought the family would catch up now they had a chance too, but he thought he understood and simply gave Leonardo a nod. "I found some tea." He gestures for the lot of them to follow him into his room - join him for a cup of tea, to catch up it had been sooo long.


Donnie finally left the room he had claimed and lightly knuckled Leo's shoulder - he had a feeling Leo might try pulling rank here, and thought he had a few arguments of logic against rooming with Mikey - or forcing Mikey on Raph. And not much of a tea fan but - eager to really sit down with Splinter after the time away - hopefully get some time to fully assess his fathers state of health. "Tea sounds fine." He says waiting for Casey and April to move past into the room first then following.

"Yeah - jonsing seriously for a good cold beer but meh Tea is fine. theres prob some grog in our little fridges can sneak later" Casey says amicably picking a seat on the edge of the bed in here. "wow...step up - escape the compound... and nicer digs than anything we ever got there." He muses patting spot beside him for his lovely red haired woman.


Splinter smiled and moved to finish the drinks, it may have been a while but he still remembered.

Lydia ran to keep up with her brother's pace, and turned around to look at Mel, who was crying and had blood trickling down her cheek. "Mel will be okay," she said to no one in particular.

Erica helped - or tried to - when Carl sat up, Stitch also - mumbling in half alien half english for the youth of a human male to take it easy - slow, his voice punctuated by growls and purrs. It still rather shocked Erica he could talk.

And just when she thought she had seen it all with Zombies.

Seriously.

Now she could only exchange a look with the little alien.

rubbing one of her friends shoulders, then standing back against the wall between bed and beside table a hope she was not intruding on a very important and touching little family moment. remaining silent. Foot throbbing, the graze had stopped the bleeding thing so all good.


Lilo smiled sadly, glad though, for Judith, Maggie and Carl. And excused herself reminding the blond girl of the pain medication inhaler for Carl when he was ready. thanking Robbin again as she joins the others. "Aloha." She smiles at the young man in the bed, the other and the woman, "I'm Lilo nice to meet yous," moving around the bed closer to the occupant now taking up the soft space reaching forward to begin the checking over the patient.

Stitch purred watching Carl and his sister, snuffling at them like a curious dog for a moment then with a soft hum in his throat he leapt off the bed, done for now with them he finally follows Lilo over to the other bed, climbing his way up the wall like some weird six limbed spider giving Gambit, Gwen and Pete his best charming grin, "Hiiiii" He says.

Bebop followed making a mental note to sniff that frog guy out later and take care of him. Once at the little hospital area he found an empty bed and laid Mel down.

Uh. Some mutant frog kissed her. It was all he really knew happen.

the news caught Gambit's attention and he stood up right and hurried over to Mel and the others. Toad's here? He asked annoyed as he inspected Mel's face. We'll get him out of here. Don't put water on that. cold compressions will ease the pain a bit.

" Yes he's here and if Bebop wasn't here then Toad would've done something worse. So what's his deal the he decided to target me?" Mel asked Gambit not knowing where the compresses were so she had to wait while bleeding and in pain. If Toad was stalking her from some reason that made her nervous being stalked was terrifying and there wasn't much she could do about it herself.

Lydia set the blue rabbit (Shelby's boyfriend) onto the bed beside Mel. "He wants to help you feel better. He's a really nice rabbit. Maybe you can help name him too? I haven't been able to decide on one yet."

Lydia was feeling a bit nervous about the amount of people that were currently here, so she decided to completely ignore anyone she was unfamiliar with for the time being. They all seemed like nice people, though. And she wanted to stay and help Mel! She didn't know who that weird mutant person was, but he hurt her new friend so she decided that she greatly disliked him.

Mikey had the suspicion Don just dibbed being Raph's room buddy to avoid being his! - and was about to point this out to D with as much whine as he could muster -

then thought about it -

who was the least likely to get under Raph's skin and not have the hot head exploding all the time?

Huh - well thats why he was the smart one Mikey supposed - he grins at Leo when he joins them and with all the glee and melodrama enthusiastically caught his leader in a hug, "Bro - we are roomies!"

The next hug was most welcomed and Kitty paused in the act of opening the door to the room she and Lilo at this point were sharing, to return it, both girls having decided when they got here not to separate after so long on the road together. "mmm -well, I had a younger woman with me, Lilo, and her little alien friend so unlike most people in the early days as lost and confused as every one else we were we had it better than most. Lockheed and my own mutation saved our ass more than once. Though I even though a human Lilo had plenty of grit and tricks and her bud Stitch quiet the scrapper, so we may have gone hungry a few nights we had a jump on most mobs of the un dead and even hunting human groups." she answers looking about the little room pushing the door open for Kurt to come inside with her.

Lockheed was snoozing on her bed.

"We found this place some months ago now and stayed. Worrying about our loved ones. At least one of mine has found his way here." She winks and kisses his blue cheek, inviting him openly to look about the space she shared. "Will probably meet the Lilo and Stitch later. Most like in the infirmary at the moment."

It had been too long. Her gentle touches, so foreign after years of torment and abuse, yet so familiar. He would fear this moment was nothing but a hurtful dream if not for the overwhelming pain and sickness he felt from the toxins in his system. His skin showed signs of healing, but wounds refusing to completely mend until his blood was free of the poison.


Nuzzling into her touches, he sighed with contentment, for the first time in a very long time, his mind at ease. She was here, with him. He still had a reason to be in this world. To deal with the madness. She made it all worth it.


At her comment about 'playing', a small hint of a grin tugged across his tired features and pressed a kiss against her cheek, then nuzzled her neck softly, inhaling her sweet scent. Even though the world had changed and became a horrible, rotting mess... Lois was still the same. His foundation. His rock. And with everything he had been through, he would need her now more than ever.


"I.. want that too. To make love to you..." And he nuzzled and kissed her. Wrapping her in his arms, he never wanted to let go,fearing that if he did so, she would slip away. "But I want to make sure... that I can't... hurt you..." He gave her another light squeeze, recalling her mention of food... "Right now, I'm not picky..." Because even in his state, he knew that food was a luxury. During his imprisonment at the CDC, his meals were often tossed through the bars, as if he was a dangerous animal. The staff wouldn't dare get close to him, knowing his capabilities. Being treated like a human being again would certainly take some getting used to.
