Hollow Heroes [Open to all] Empty
PostSubject: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptyMon May 16, 2016 10:28 pm

Crowed streets are cleared away
One by one
Hollow heroes separate
As they run
You're so cold
Keep your hand in line
Wise men wonder, while strong men die

Show me how it ends, it's alright
Show me how defenseless you really are
Satisfy an empty inside
That's alright, let's give this another try

If you find your family
Don't you cry
In this land of make believe
Dead and dry
You're so cold, but you feel alive
Lay your hand on me, one last time

Show me how it ends, it's alright
Show me how defenseless you really are
Satisfy an empty inside
That's alright, let's give this another try

It's alright....

Time: Dec. 2018
Location: Worldwide

Setting:

It all started in 2016. A world made safe by super-humans and mutants, suddenly brought to its knees by an unexplainable outbreak. A virus that turns humans and mutants into flesh craving monsters. Zombies, or as this world commonly refers to them as... Walkers.

The CDC is still intact, based  in Atlanta but employees and hunters dispersed throughout the country, hunting down any supernaturals to harvest blood. In the beginning, voluntary sign up was the course of action as the authorities believed that the cure could be found in the blood of those gifted with special powers. After receiving little response, desperation took hold and authorities took matters into their own hands. Supernaturals were considered inhuman and fair game. Besides, with the world going to hell, the peoples' rights no longer held weight.

The world as anyone formally viewed it is gone. Only the CDC holding electricity and power, enabling them to conduct their experimentation. Superman was considered a key in a cure, but after his resistance, kryponite that had been harvested from outer space had been used to weaken the alien, making him manageable. Kept weakened by cell bars infused with kryptonite, Clark Kent has been and still being drained of his blood, to the point of death, over and over again. Torture without end. A specially  made collar harvesting a kryptonite crystal gives his torturers the upper hand.

In the early days, one of the few willing sign ups was submitted by a 15 year old Peter Parker, but unfortunately he was unaware that this was more than a simple blood donation. He found himself imprisoned, treated to the screams of the unwilling as the world around him dies, and the few humans that remain losing their humanity, slowly becoming monsters.....

Agonized screams filled the void of the cold halls of the CDC. The Kryptonian had been submitted to this torment only a few short hours before, drained dangerously low of his blood, but the procedure ended short of just stopping his heartbeat. Normally mere humans would not get the upper hand, but subject  X-One, formally known as Clark Kent to those that used to love him, and Superman to those that worshipped and hated him, was weakened by kryptonite, the only source capable of killing him.

Being dragged back to his prison after being bled out and leaving a trail of blood from busted arteries and a slit jugular, he hardly seemed a hero. His costume long gone but the tattered and ripped cape still hanging from the bars of his cell, taunting.. reminding him of all he used to be capable of. His love for humans, even as they tried to prosecute him and blame him for the destruction that happened during his battles to save cities.  His own humanity slipping, that love replaced with fear of this race.

A lonely picture of Lois breathed a tinge of life into the otherwise cold walls of his cell. The only thing that gave him hope and brought him back from the jumping off point each time he was only inches from death. His only reason for not giving up. Deep in his heart, he felt that she was still alive. Lois had always been a fighter...

Once again he was tossed into his cell with no regards to his well being. Irritation that recent donations hadn't resulted in a cure. But the higher ups were determined that Superman's' blood held the cure....

"You ain't so Super.." One of the techs spat as he slammed the cell door shut, spitting on the cape even though the once 'super human' was too close to death to notice the action. Orange jump suit ripped and bloodied from days of torture. Humans had certainly grown cold and uncaring...

Hollow Heroes [Open to all] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptyTue May 17, 2016 9:58 pm

Location: New York City...

Times had changed and man, they certainly weren't easy. Being a large humanoid Turtle, Raphael had often wished for a time to come where no one would care about their appearance. Well, that time was now. Most of humanity had become flesh eating monsters. The government had fallen, the world collapsed. Now all that mattered was staying alive. In the early stages of the outbreak, Raph had kept a low profile from the rest of the world, figuring this was the human's problem. They needed to deal with it.

But then, he remembered their human friends. And deep down, he knew.. there were more out there like them. Not that he was itching to make new friends. No. That was Mike's department. But even as much as he distrusted humans, he had always felt a responsibility to help out where he could, and that time was now more than ever.

Never mind the fact that there was a price on all superhuman and mutant's heads. No. They would have to catch him first. Besides, normal civilians were incapable of bringing down a highly skilled ninja.

Since the outbreak, Raphael had made it his responsibility to go out on patrols,  taking out Walkers where he could, and aiding any survivors. Not that he could bring them 'home', but there were ways to make sure they made it through another rough night.

Tonight was no different. He found himself between a horde of 'biters' and what looked to be a 15 year old. A human not much younger than him, but certainly not as skilled as he and his brothers. He felt an intoxicating high every time he went up against the abominations, knowing one bite could prove fatal, but also knowing that he was any would-be victim's only hope. He  took the group down with the greatest of ease, fighting his way through the crowd, and sheer numbers offered the threat of infection. So many close calls that only added to the adrenaline and drive as he slashed his way through, heart thumping wildly within the confines of his chest. Such a rush.. such a reason to live in a world where everything was dying. Where heroes fell daily, hunted like animals to be strung up like cattle and drained of their blood.

The last Walker fell, and the massive Turtle struggled for breath, realizing this horde had been much bigger than the last. Fifty.. no.. sixty... counting....

Remembering the young teenager behind him, crumpled and huddled against the dead end alley's wall, he shifted on his heels, expecting the reverberating scream that would shatter eardrums, but nothing came. There was fear in the young girl's eyes, but also gratitude.  She had only been on this earth for a few short years, like him, but understood that there was more to fear than a humanoid Turtle.

"You... need to find a safe place. The higher up, the better. Vacant buildin's everywhere..." The reptile breathed, shoving his trusty pair of sai back into their resting place. Never mind the gore that dripped from their custom sharp tips. The virus had proven to be only transmitted though bites. Approaching cautiously and not wishing to scare the female, he knelt only long enough to place a bottle of water at her feet, knowing it was a rare commodity these days. "I know yer scared...but you gotta move soon. They can smell you... an... you weren't exactly quiet..."

It was hard to keep track of time in this day and age, but Daryl estimated that it had been months since they had last seen their group. Their camp had been overran, separating him and Carl, Rick's young son from the rest of the group. Things did not look good for the rest of the survivors, but the big hearted red-neck just didn't have it in him to crush his charge's hopes. Besides, they had gotten out of some pretty sticky situations before. Maybe, just maybe the others would surprise him.

Rick had always been a fighter... and Michonne... she would not go out without one hell of a fight. Glenn was a slippery as a weasel, and Maggie wasn't a push-over either. Yeah, the rest of the group could have survived, and maybe they were looking for them right now.

Given the time of year, darkness had settled in fast. Daryl had thought against starting a campfire, but seeing Carl shiver caused him to soften his resolve. True, the smoke would draw unwanted attention, but Daryl had a keen sense of hearing, and had proven time and time again that he could fight his way out of hopeless situations. It beat having to deal with a sick kid of Carl came down with something due to the cold.

The teenage boy was curled up on the ground, head resting in Daryl's lap as he sat, staring off, almost blankly into the dancing inferno. His mind lost in thought, wondering how the hell he was going to raise a kid if the others were never found. Carl was tough, there was no doubt there, but Daryl wasn't sure if he was ready for this responsibility. Still, there was no way he would walk away from the challenge. He'd always had a soft spot for the boy, and his baby sister that he had lovingly dubbed 'Lil Asskicker'. Surely they would be fine, and everyone would be reunited soon.

Hollow Heroes [Open to all] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptyWed May 18, 2016 12:31 am

Two years. It had been two years since the out break of what people were calling, 'walkers'. She didn't care for the name. they were zombies. But, the Z word seem to be forbidden, an unwritten law that one should never speak that word. Walkers. So what were the ones that didn't walk? the ones that were decomposing, laid out on the street? Layers? Was that a thing?

It had been two years since she lost her family, her friends, even her enemies. She coped, as well as she could. stuck to the roof tops. She hardly ever touched the ground. Other then to get supplies. Water, food. Maybe a blanket if she could find one. Honestly, she didn't know how she lived this long. Mikko wasn't good at this survival stuff. she didn't know how to make a fire, she didn't hunt. If she did, what would she catch in the middle of the city.

Yeah, she was still in New York. it seemed safer to stay. She knew where things were, and knew the best hiding places. But now the stores were our of food. the only water she had was from the rain. her food was fish from the park's pond. She climbed one of the trees close to the pond, fished from above. Sometimes she spent hours trying to catch something.

Nothing was ever cooked, it caused her to be sick a number of times. What she needed, what she really craved, was another living being. In the two years she had been bouncing around the city, she had only seen a handful of people. No one wanted her around, they either wanted to steal from her, which had happen. Or they simply wanted nothing to do with her. It was being alone that bothered her the most about everything.

She had heard that somewhere they were taking mutants and super humans, testing their blood for a cure. That was cool and all. But why? why not let them just take out the walkers? Kill the infected? She suppose people thought that the infected could be saved still. the ones that weren't totally decomposed. Or a vacination for the ones not infected. she wondered if parents would be against that one for their kids.

tonight was like any other night, running the roof tops, trying to find something to eat. it was hard jumping around when you were starving. the sounds of the moaning and groaning and shuffling filled the air like every night. as long as she stayed high, she was safe. She did have a weapon, found it in a weapon store. a cane, that pulled out into a sword and with a push of a button, another blade shot out. it had come in handy.

it wasn't the horde of walkers that caught her attention, it was the fact that they were flying everywhere. someone was fighting them, and doing one hell of a job! she stopped and watched. Another living being! well...living at the moment, unless those corpses had other ideas.

She was surprised the dude took them all out. Even more surprise to see it was one of those turtles! she lived her whole life in this city, heard stories about them, but now, for the first time, she was seeing one of the turtles. One of. wasn't there more? A sad thought crossed her mind, maybe the others didn't make it. But if that was the case. Then maybe their blood wasn't the cure.

She watched him walk in the alley and speak. She didn't see the girl, it was too dark. But it sounded like he was trying to help someone.

Psst! hey. She whispered, trying to keep quiet but still heard. Up here.

" Thanks for saving me you're the first nonwalker I've seen in a while. And I'm not scared just got overwhelmed is all. But if it's all the same to you can I stick with you I don't have a group to get back to. Got separated from them a few months ago been surviving alone ever since. Please Red I will be of use to you." The young teen told the giant talking turtle trying to not visibly shake or show any fear from being surrounded by walkers and then getting rescued.

Mel had come into the city in search of some supplies she only had one clip of ammo left in her gun and had taken the risk to find a gun store. Only she had found out the hard way that were a ton of walkers in the city even after two years since this whole mess had started. She ended up getting cornered not knowing where she was going and almost met death if the turtle hadn't shown up. That's when she barely heard the loud whisper causing her to glance around.

" Red there's someone here." She said trying to find the source.

All he had ever wanted to do was the right thing... to help people. Peter Parker once believed that if you had the ability to do good, then that's what you should do. Unfortunately his line of thinking had resulted in his imprisonment. If he had it to do all over again, then perhaps he would have chosen differently. Perhaps he would have his freedom ....or... perhaps he would be one of those... mindless monsters. Russian Roulette , but at least he was alive. At least he hadn't been so heavily targeted as the other prisoner. 'Superman'...or...Subject One as he was now referred to. The Kryptonian seemed to be bled out on a daily basis. Some days the torment accompanied by gut wrenching screams. Others.. silent agony.

Pete's cell was situated down another corridor, preventing him any contact with the other prisoner. Every now and then the teen would catch a glimpse of them dragging the 'alien' by, only seconds from death but each day, the cycle continued. It... sucked.

The youth was treated a little more kindly, perhaps due to his age. In the early days, he was gifted with a walkman and comics that he still kept tucked away. The walkman still worked in spurts whenever one of the techs were kind enough to recharge the batteries. He often used the music to drown out the screams, but sometimes.... it wasn't enough.

Adorned in the same color jumpsuit that the other subject was wearing, it seemed a little big but then again, they rarely made incarceration suits for kids.

The kid formally known as Spider-Man feared the worst when he was drugged and woke up in a completely new environment. Laying on  the floor of the empty cell, eyes slowly fluttered open to take in his new surroundings. There in the cell next to him was the prisoner that he had been completely isolated from. This was what he had often heard the 'scientist' refer to as the 'bleed out room'. It could only mean one thing. They were about to up the trials that would require more of his blood. Though he was strong, Peter knew he could not regenerate the way Superman did.

Finally getting his bearings, he pushed himself up onto bare feet and moved closer to the bars, gazing down into the other cell, noticing the bars glowing an odd green color. A stone of the same color implanted in the barbaric looking collar around the once beloved 'God's' neck. Kryptonite... he had heard about this stuff after Superman had taken out Doomsday some years ago. Sup had died in that battle and yet... here he was...

"Hey!" He squeaked out, so starved for some form of interaction that he couldn't contain himself. He grew hopeful as the grounded hero twitched and winced, signs of life. Maybe.. just maybe he heard him? "I'm Peter...Peter Parker. I'm a big fan."  Okay, maybe not a good time to be 'fanboying' but he hoped for a response. He watched as the 'alien's' eyes flickered open, glowing a deadly shade of red as he tried to push himself up onto hands and knees, but obviously too weak. A sign of agitation as familiar voices entered the room, causing Pete to sink to the back of his cell, watching nervously as the food trays were brought in.

It was obvious that the workers did not want to get too close to the alien's cell, opting to sling it through the bars to avoid any form of backlash. It resulted in a huge mess and nothing salvageable, but fortunately Pete's own was delivered the correct way.

Waiting for the workers to leave, the youth slid a half of sandwich on a napkin through the bars, trying his best to slide it away from the glowing bars so what he hoped was his new friend wouldn't have to come into contact with them. "I think you need this more than me.." And he added the juice, hoping that the offerings would be received well.

It took a moment, but those fiery 'demon' eyes slowly faded, taking on a very human shade of blue.  There was quiet hesitation as the 'God' slowly found his footing, pushing himself up and just stared at him. Confused? Relieved? It was hard for Peter to tell, but no anger. Though, he showed little interest in the food. Shaky fingers clawed at the irritated skin of his neck, black veins evident close to where the stone was situated.

"I..I know you don't know me and you have no reason to trust me but... maybe I can get rid of that stone....but you would have to come close to the bars..."

Red? So the kid had taken to calling him red? Well, made sense he guessed. But then someone called out from above and he looked up. Great. Another human. Though, sightings of people weren't like before. For one, it was a much rarer occurrence considering that most of the population were 'undead'. For two... no one really freaked out over mutants these days. Everyone had bigger concerns.

Raphael had made a habit of helping people, but one rule they tried to stick to... don't bring humans home. It was hard enough finding food for the family. Still, he knew this girl would not survive out here on her own, not long anyway. But then this other human appeared. Phew. Solution.

"Uh... hey..." Yeah, even though times had changed, he was still awkward with introductions. He looked between Mel and the rooftop girl. "I think you two should group together. I ain't a good one to hang around.."

Hollow Heroes [Open to all] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptyFri May 20, 2016 11:45 pm

CDC, Atlanta.

Atlanta, the sprawling capital of Georgia. A hundred and thirty five square miles... or three hundred and forty seven square kilometers of city. That now resembled one of those 'After Us' documentaries that had once been aired on the Discovery Channel.

When Agent John Bishop had set up shop here in the early years with the promise to officials and civilians alike to have Earth Protection Force work closely with the Center of Disease Control, to find a cure - or vaccine or put plans into place to halt the fast spread or the deadly viral contagion. Never did he imagine he would fail. So badly and that now two years on still be in this city.
Still working on a cure. Or at least something that would destroy the virus, especially something that would take those infected with it out also, Focusing also on a vaccine as it was probably the best course. As well as a few side projects, one called the The SPARTAN Programs are a series of EPF projects designed to create generations of physically, genetically, technologically, and mentally superior "superhumans'. Up until now though the genetic material for such had been limited, fragments of recovered Alien DNA. Now with some willing and some, very unwilling captured Supernatural beings held within the modified buildings of the CDC and those sharing its block Bishop would begin to see the first results.

Not all the so called 'vaccines' he gave the people here were just vaccines, additional dna and rna coding, they will bare the first super humans. And some young had already been born, showing great promise, more would be on the way with all women of bearing ages being returned to a eighteen hundreds form of living. Though Bishop knew it was senseless to simply make them breed over and over, once every few years maybe, with the modified genomes introduced to theirs and their partners dna of course... A promise to survive this calamity and humans to become something more... like himself.

The world it self was much quieter now. Pollution dropping. Several miles all around the cdc a sort of 'base' of operations had been set. Toppled buildings created a wall shutting this all off, aside a few gated exits located north, east, south and westerly for the comings and goings of his militia. Which though suffering losses in the early days like everywhere else had grown of late as they added to the ranks. Most his original militia guarded the 'walls' of their compound, the newer ranks where mostly formed of what had been coined as hunters and gatherers.

Gatherers mostly did runs to gather supplies and - sometimes people, if any survivors where to be found these days. Not concerning themselves with the dead other then those in the way of trips. Hunters on the other hand ran more like militia squads and set out to capture surviving non human entities, mutants, aliens, supernaturals. Those that fell into more than one of those categories.

The rest of the population under his 'care' here were non skilled workforce that was now responsible for farming - the taller buildings in the compound modified to be vertical farm lands. It had taken time and planning but the first crops would be harvested soon - making it easier on the gatherers to focus on supplies they could not yet make or grow for themselves, medical being the biggest one. The more skilled of the civilians of course retained their work, after all there was a need for medical personal, scientists, teachers, manufacturers and builders. All others ended up farming, or cooking or cleaning.

Bishop knew people were less likely to try stupid things like mutinies if they felt productive and like a community.

Turning his mind away from these reminiscent like thoughts and himself physically away from the window of his ' home' as it was for now, a roof top penthouse with great views all around that just about saw over the entire 'Atlanta Compound' Bishop pulled on his signature dark traveling cloak and sunglasses, time to see off the Hunters and Gatherer teams and make the rounds - especially with the scientists and those in charge of containing Supernaturals.

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptySat May 21, 2016 2:55 am

"come on, come on..." Donnie sighs, watching through the microscope as his latest 'serum' splashed among the diseased cells... And ... And... Nothing.

Thud! And a frustrated sigh, Don stood, he had been here hours. Of course he often spent hours, untold hours in his lab, sometimes in such long stretches Leo would come in and lecture/ kind big brother concern guilt his out or Raph would burst in and drag him out forcibly, or Mikey annoy him until the same result was achieved.

One wall had rows of tanks, all empty at the moment, the latest rat subjects having not made it through the attempts to find a cure. Or more of a anti viral agent that would kill the virus, sadly most host being eaten by those infected by the Virus Don dubbed to himself the Z- Plague, would nt survive, but stopping it and hoping the cure would be a vaccine ... He records and then clears up the latest failure. He knew the mutagen had the properties to be made into this cure, vaccine but ... Maybe it was missing something or needed more? He didn't know.

Clearing away the mess Don looked around, MetalHead was patrolling the lairs underground perimeter on constant alert, the feed to the repaired tv screen here showing so far no activity.

Meh he needed a break, no brother had to come in and tell him this time, he needed coffee. And maybe ask his brothers again to donate some more blood.

He stretches and leaves this plastic ally sealed off part of his lab, leaving the modified hazard suit hanging up between the first and second sheet of plastic separation and then left his lab. Yawning heading to the kitchen. Finding with a further sigh his coffee was low, well next supply run he would keep an eye out for a tin or jar, he no longer had a favorite type or brand, and had in the two years since this all started become quiet accustomed to no sugar or milk in his coffee, occasionally honey to sweeten. Boiling some water he stretches some more easing stiffness and cramps.

Wow the turtle was already pawning his new friend off? That sucked. Uh...You know. I don't think that's a good idea. I mean, no offence, but if I'm going to group with someone, I would want it to be someone who can help me. Course I could eat her if it came down to it.

Mikko leaped off the roof and quietly made a few jumps before landing on the ground next to the turtle.

I'm Mikko. and you have no idea how happy I am to see living beings.

Mikko smiled at Raph before grabbing him in a bear hug. she held on to him for a while. She just so needed the contact of a living soul. But she did let go eventually and stepped back. sorry I just needed a hug really bad. The rest of your family, are they safe? Is everyone ok? We shouldn't stay on the ground. We need to get higher. They can't climb buildings.

Mel couldn't help but react to the poorly timed and horrible joke she pushed Mikko into a wall glaring at her. She yelled sort of at the woman so more walkers wouldn't come. " Don't you ever joke about that shit! There are people that take it seriously because they've seen it happen because this world fucked with people's heads! Not only that but say it to the wrong person they will kill you with no warning! So don't you ever do that again if you value your own fucking life!" The young teen let the woman go panting but was shaking in fury.

" Red I can't stay with her if she pulls that again I might not be able to control myself." Mel told him clenching her hands into fists glaring at the older girl.

Hollow Heroes [Open to all] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptySat May 21, 2016 5:30 pm

Location: New York City Turtles' Lair

Like most of his family, Leo remained in the Big Apple to save as many people as he could.  Leo just felt he had to do something to help, but he wasn't above ground as much as his brother Raphael was.  The whole city was in chaos and nowhere was truly safe.  Still, thanks to Don's security system, their home was still safe enough for the Turtles.  Splinter, Casey, and April had all gone to the other base in Atlanta to see what they could do, which left Leonardo leading his own team of brothers.

Food was getting scarce, and Leo only ate enough to keep up his strength for when he had to make supply runs - which often lead to run-ins with these monsters (that might have once been decent people) since they were everywhere.  After two years of this mess and they were no closer to coming to a solution to the growing zombie problem.  Leo knew Don was doing what he could and Leo was a happy volunteer to give blood to his brother's cause.

Leo had been sitting at the kitchen table with his own cup of tea.  He kept staring at the clock, down at his cooling cup of still steaming liquid, then back up at the clock again.  He repeated this process for over an hour and by then his tea had gone cold.  Leo didn't care.  He just wanted to hear something from his brother who was topside.  Raph had been known to get in over his head, so it was definitely cause for Leo to worry.

When Don entered the kitchen, he finally looked at something else besides his cup and the clock for the first time in an hour.  He gave Don a small smile.  "Hey, Donnie.  Any luck?"  He knew his brother was trying to come up with an antidote to this plague that had taken over not just this city, but the entire world.

Oooookay. Raphael was -really- regretting his decision to be here tonight! First the unexpected hug that w as... awkward and he just kind of let it happen, though rigid and unsure of how to react. It obviously meant something to her and he briefly considered if he had been out here on his own.... not that he would go around hugging random strangers, but still. It had to be difficult.

He gave her an awkward pat.. on the head? Yeah, that's how you were supposed to respond, right? But then all hell broke loose and the younger girl went batshit crazy on the 'hugger', and the commotion certainly earned the unwanted attention of the undead.

"Hey... wow!" He pulled the younger girl back, shooting death glares at her, eyes conveying just how pissed he was. [color=red]"What are you, stupid? Streets overrun with those fuckin' things and you lose yer head over idle threats? How have you stayed alive so long?" He huffed, shaking his head in frustration and backing away. "You know what... it ain't my problem. I did my good deed for the night. You got another shot, but I'm figurin' you got one minute to get out of this alley before those flesh eaters eat you for real..." Harsh, perhaps, but this world was cold and Raphael was not about to start sugar coating things now.

"I got my own shit to deal with.."

Mikko was NOT expecting the girl to lose her fucking mind! But there she was, being held against the wall. She didn't fight back, and kept her cool, thankfully Raph pulled the insane girl away. Mikko let out a slow breath and gave the two a nod, he never anwered her about his family, so she took it as a sign that he didn't want to talk about it. Maybe he lost everyone too.

yeah. It was nice meeting you....Raphael, right? Her friend mentioned their names and mask colors. she remembered Raph's because both his name and mask started with R. The other's she wasn't sure about...though there might have been a Mike...

Obviously she wasn't going to be teaming up with him, and she did not want to keep him long, there was dangerous people and dead people around.

stay safe. and hidden. I hear the government is after guys like you. as for you, girl. I hope we don't meet again.

She reached over and gave Raph's arm a squeeze then silently made her away back to the roof.

" And if you think you're gonna lose me you got another thing coming. And sorry for freaking out but the world is quite a bit different outside the cities. So please let me stay with you red I can keep up. If nothing else can I just crash where you stay and once I'm rested up I'm gone." The young teen told him following him he was far safer to be around than being alone. There was safety in numbers and she was mentally and while she didn't show it physically exhausted she barely got any sleep for weeks. Mel couldn't be alone now she was still just a kid surviving in a world that didn't care anymore.

Location: The big Fucking Apple. Some lousy ran down shit hole apartment... with no power! Oh yeah, and zombies outside!

Two years. Two stinking long ass years since this stupid outbreak bullshit. It sent the world into complete chaos but Deadpool had discovered looooong before any of this shit hit the fan that well... he could NOT die! Sure, he could get bitten and scratched, eaten, disemboweled... but he  always came back. It was pretty sweet at first, but  being  eaten after so many times kind of lost it's appeal.

Maybe that's why Gambit kept him around.. for the entertainment in all of what. Whatever it was, there was no denying that having another 'live type' thing was good.

Though, he often wondered what the hell happened to Peter Parker! That adorable little blushy 15 year old that he had saved not long after the kid got his Stark enhancements. Wade couldn't quite put his finger on it, but there was something very alluring about that little squirt. Like he wanted to be his best friend or something. Look after him.. whatever! The thing was, he just couldn't let go the fact that 'Webs' went missing. Had he become zombie chow, there would have been evidence. But.. there was nothing.

Stretched out on an old pile of blankets that was situated in the far corner of the dark candlelit room, Wade looked in Gambit's direction, his infamous red mask resting beside him for the moment.

"Atlanta. I'm telling  you, Gam-butt... that lil shit is there. YOU remember the early days? They wanted volunteers.. and he's all about doing the right thing. I tell you, they have him. We should go..." He shrugged. "Hell, what the fuck else are we gonna do with our time? Road trip sounds like more fun than a barrel of lesbian monkeys on a Sunday morning."

Gambit wasn't too bothered about the whole zombie thing. It could be worse. He could be human! With no way to defend himself! And he could be traveling alone. But he had ol' Deadpool to keep him company. The Cajun would hate to admit it out loud, but, Deadpool was actually good company. Really, really weird and sometimes gross, company, but still good.

They had met up about a year ago and decided it was best to stick together. He didn't even know where the rest of the X-Men were, or any other mutant for that matter.

It was when Wade started to talk about his crush again that Gambit turned to him. He didn't even correct the name calling, just rolled his eyes.

Yeah. Maybe da others are there too? Rogue...Who knows what they're doing with em. clearly no cure has happen yet. so lets go. Maybe we'll get lucky and find others, the more the merrier. Maybe you find yourself a woman and stop pining after young boys, yeah?

Gambit stood up and stretched out then grabbed his trusty bo. He passed Deadpool and gave him a tap to his feet as he passed him. Let's hit the road, homme mort.

Well it seemed that ol Gambino was game. Great! He wouldn't admit it, but Wade certainly didn't want to make that trip alone. He grabbed his mask and pulled it on, not wanting his disfigurement to have him confused with one of those rotting walkers out there. Not that it sucked too badly getting stabbed, it just usually sucked for whatever survivor that got too close to attempt it.

"Homie...wart..what the fuck..." Okay, it was a Cajun thing. "Speak Canadian...but I take it you were hitting on me. It's okay, you can admit it... I know it's hard to look at this fine ass everyday and not get turned on..." Never missing a beat as he sheathed his katanas and joined his friend.

"And I'm not pining over him, geeze. Now, if he was a little older. I'm a lot of things, but I'm no petophile. He owes me five bucks..."

He casually led them out the door, not at all detoured by the horde of biters that greeted to him. Grabbing his swords and clearing a path as he never missed a beat jabbering. "Five bucks and forty-seven cents if memory serves me..."

Ya got me there,Beau. Je t'aime Secrètement. Gambit said with a wink. It was good to know that Wade wasn't after Peter's man hood. Not that Gambit honestly thought he would be. Deadpool was a lot of things, and one of those things was a decent human.

he followed his masked friend out the door and was greeted but the sight and sounds of hungry undead. Ah, Children of the night. such sweet music they make.

He hurried a bit away from DP and used his charged bo to strike down an energy pulse, throwing the walkers out of their way.

I think you be enjoying this too much. He told Wade with a chuckle. Don't get yerself eaten again. Your regenerating creeps me the fuck out.

His brothers greeting spooked the turtle whom had just been stirring in water into his cup and the kernels of dark coffee - he starts and his spoon clatters against the cup spinning around in the whirlpool of liquid.

"hey Leo - and no, no luck this time - MetalHead will have to catch me more rats the last batch half infected showed no improvement, or at least the virus still managed to infect the vaccinated ones, on the plus side the vaccine did slow the onset so might be on the right path."

He noted Leo's cup and smiles making a fresh tea and bringing both cups to the table and reaching across to move Leo's cold cup out of his hands moving the fresh hot tea between his fingers. " Raph went out alone and is still out?" he guesses with a sigh, the lair could never contain the hot head day in and out and nearly eighteen months with no word from Casey Jones, April... Their April O'Neil ... Or more alarmingly their father Splinter -

Their hot head brother still hit topside to blow off steam and maybe save someone. " we doing a quick retrieval?"

Hollow Heroes [Open to all] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Heroes [Open to all]   Hollow Heroes [Open to all] EmptySun May 22, 2016 2:48 pm

The days were short and nights cold and she had had for the first time in recent months meat. A skinned mutt. Somewhere hours behind the skin, blood and offal left to whatever dead still wondered the roads of Atlanta. Erica had came a while ago with half a mind to join the community there. However reading her map before having shot the dog with one of her arrows, she had seen New York further along the roads and deciding Atlanta and it's Community was going no where she left the cities outer limits she'd barely penetrated and headed for the last stationary home her family had shared two years ago.

However, now she stood in the dark, some few hundred feet away from a fire, a fire that could cook the meat over her shoulder. And it was a good sized animal, more meat than she could eat alone - she only needed to have several strips dried for days traveling ahead. And maybe the fellow travelers had some news - anything. Something to share over a belly of meat. Or maybe they had nothing to share. However she still had the meat.

Well - it was now or never. She could stand there, a girl with a dead dog over a shoulder, bow over the other with the quiver, all over the straps of the backpack, just a girl in jeans and jacket of all nondescript unremarkable greys, stained brown boots and contemplate the fire and cooking and let her own hunger build or take a chance. Surely she would not be a dangerous looking person. Though she herself was wary of everyone these days.

And so cautious her approach was slow, not masking her footfalls even as soft as they were - nothing more to break the quiet, waiting, hoping she indeed looked like some one neither of these men had something to be afraid of. No, she corrected herself the fire light would have cast its glow far enough to illuminate her now to them and the two better to her eyes too. No one of these was a man, the other was not yet a man but it would be folly to think he was not any less forced to grown up as she had been, it would not be fair to call him a boy even in her own mind, even if she had to guess she would gather him to be a little younger than herself.

Erica waits - she did not want to scare them. Had approached slowly so as she would be heard and seen and would wait now for a greeting of some sort before making her intentions to join their fire side known.

Mikey would join his two brothers moments later, looking between them. Two years ago he would have cracked some joked about them looking like a pair of liddle old ladies ready to has some tea and get to knitting.

And the thought briefly crossed his mind to let the taunt past. But Donnie's stiffness did not go unnoticed by the 'baby blues' or the fact a cold cup of tea was now being replaced by a fresh one. Now was not the time for jibes at his brothers. He heads to make himself a tea adding a little cool water from the tap so he could drink it fairly quickly and with a jaunty, "Hi bros." of greeting like he had not noticed the tension or heard the brief conversation between Leo and Don, or noted their brainy brothers tiredness or the leading brothers watchfulness. Sitting himself beside Leo and sipping his tea.

Used to be he would prefer Orange Crush. And prefer his teas sweet and strong and milky. Or his coffee blonde and sweeter than his teas... but food was scarce enough and some luxuries like milk and sugar even more so - he had grown accustomed to the unsweetened teas and coffees.

Grinning he waits for the brothers greetings back and probably talk of heading topside. Find and join their rogue brother with whatever he had gotten himself into this time, maybe a herd of the infected? maybe - though unlikely these days survivors, maybe try a few apartment buildings they had not been through yet and hope to find some food and useful things to bring home.

Being a master tracker and so in tune to his environment, Daryl detected her long before he saw her in the dark. He carefully shifted Carl and shot up, crossbow in hand and aiming in her direction. And then he saw her, illuminated by the fire's wild glow. A young woman who didn't appear like much of a threat, but in this world, you couldn't be too careful....

Holding her in his sights, but torn given her young age. probably not much older than Carl he figured. That was enough to soften his resolve just enough to lower the crossbow, but still ready to take action if need be.

"Where the hell did you come from?" He asked, focus momentarily pulled in Carl's direction as he began to wake. The poor kid had recently lost an eye and the bandages covering the still healing wound certainly needed changing, but supplies were hard to come by out here. There was a brief look of confusion on the young 'boy's' face as he squinted his good eye in the newcomer's direction, but his features turned to hopefulness..."Beth?"

It wasn't that Clark didn't appreciate the boy's generous offer, but he was not accustomed to any acts of kindness, and due to his condition, had yet to realize the one in the next cell was so young. Vision blurred and crippling nausea, it took everything he had to keep standing. He swayed too close to the bars and instantly paid for it. And excruciating pain in his head, as if his brain was being constricted. Covering ears that were now bleeding, he once again found himself crumpled to his knees, fighting the pain and dizziness and the need to scream...

Breathing heavily, it took a moment for the world to come back into focus and his eyes shifted in the kid's direction, only now fully acknowledging the fact that he had company.Soon, it all fell into place. The teenager had just been brought in, and was responsible for the act of kindness...

"Thanks, kid..." And slowly he found his footing once again, but despite curiosity, did not go close to the bars. "I'm S...." He almost introduced himself... but had forgotten. Superman, no more. And hell, not even 'Clark Kent' because 'humans' did not get treated like this. "I can't come closer to the bars.." And before he could explain why, his sensitive hearing picked up on voices in the other room, revealing their plans. He gave the kid a concerned look.

"I don't want to alarm you, but you have to figure out a way out of here. They plan to kill you...."
