Hollow Heroes [Open to all]

Mel's voice outside of the car now seemed so far away, Mikko in the seat so close to them, also seemed just as far. all there was, was him and her. locked in this moment. Her eyes closed, hands glided across his bare skin, caressing his back.

Her lips massaged his, tongue flicking over his lips before slipping between them.

Maybe now was the worst time for such a moment. With their friends in danger fighting off a horde of undead. they themselves locked in the car with a potential threat. But...What if this moment was all they had? What if this was the end of their road?

With that thought Gwen pulled Peter against her, her heart beating faster, her own soft moan escaping her throat.

" Guys not the time for that way to be horror movie cliches." Mel sighed face palming making out where Mikko was going to turn and where there was walkers out here was the worst time to do it. Good lord it could be done later once everyone was safe not now.

Indeed. It could be the worst time for anything... or the last. With that thought in mind, he hissed her deeply, so unsure but when her tongue parted their lips, his own sliding between the barrier and massaging hers, moaning against her lips, savoring the moment for as long as it would last.....


...this could be it... their last moments on earth.. his last moments with 'her....and she was proving just how much she loved him.....



Savoring every delicious moment as if it could be the last, and aware that it every well could be,  lips still fully engaged with hers, he started moving toward the back seat, tugging Gwen with him.....

Gwen followed his movements to the back. She laid down pulling him on top of her. She backed away from his lips for a moment and looked into his eyes. She needed to make sure he wasn't in too much pain before they went any further.

Are you feeling ok? She asked. Her voice barely a whisper. I don't want to aggravate your injuries.

Even as she voiced her concern, her thin fingers moved to the waste band of the jeans.

I love you, Peter. I always have.

With a nod and reluctant sigh, Daryl focused his attention on the unlikely group. Two mutants and the small girl... "Maybe you should leave the kid with Carl and Erica...." He told the Pig, skeptical that the mutant was setting a trap, but if he wasn't and if the mall was already claimed, they certainly didn't need to drag a child into whatever hell they were walking into.....

Bebop looked over at the other young ones that Daryl was leaving behind, then at Lydia. He shook his head. You can leave your kids alone if you want, Lydia don't leave my sight. He said this in a tone that made it clear, he felt Daryl was an idiot for leaving the others in the woods by themselves. Of course he had no way of knowing the skills the young boy had, or even the other female.

Bebop adjusted Lydia in his arms so that she could lay her head on his shoulder if she wanted to and without another word he walked off , heavy boots sinking in fresh snow.

Kurt said nothing and followed close to Bebop when the pig started to walk off.

Lydia relaxed, feeling safer now that she was with Bebop again. She had the slight sinking feeling that the boy didn't really like her. That was okay. She didn't mind. She was just looking forward to leaving, checking out the mall. It'd be safe there - she knew it.

"Bye!" she said to Erica and Carl as Bebop started to walk away, her tone quiet and polite. If all went well (which...it would of course) she'd see then again later. Maybe second impressions would be better?

Bebop pressed a wet nose against Lydia's cheek and nuzzled her. If Rocksteady had been around he would be saying that Bebop had gotten soft, taking in children. And maybe that was true. the world ending tended to change a person, even mutants.

Any stuffed animal you looking to add to your collection? He asked the girl. I think you need some more little piggies.

"Definitely!" Lydia giggled, picturing a little plushified Bebop. "Oh! Maybe another rabbit. D'you think Shelby would like a boyfriend?"

She was then lost daydreaming, picturing the place in her mind. She wondered if there was a Build-a-Bear at this mall. Though...it probably wouldn't be as fun without electricity - and friendly people who helped with the stuffie-making process. She was starting to feel tired, but was too excited to feel sleepy. She just hoped that this mall would live up to her expectations, and not end up filled with zombies or other unpleasant things.

Hearing the pig and young girl talk, Kurt kept up pace with them and smiled at their talk. He then looked over at Lydia and clapped his hands together before Bebop could answer her question.

I think Shelby having a boyfriend would be wunderbar! I had a stuffed rabbit when I was little. His name was Gustav.

Just the thought of her going out there made Clark briefly reconsider. He felt the need to help the others, but not at the expense of putting Lois in danger. He knew if things got out of control or if he took too long, she would follow him. Yes, she was strong willed and determined and had proven time and time again just how tough she was... the fact remained. She was still human.


"I just want you to be safe, Lo..." He told her, wrapping his arms around her and giving a gentle but meaningful hug. His gaze met hers, darkness of veins still present beneath his eyes,still sick from the poisoning but the suit was helping regain strength.



"I won't be long...I promise." Again, a promise that he could not guarantee, but if something happened, the others would surely keep her safe. Another gentle squeeze and his lips met hers, kissing her softly. Savoring the feel and warmth and taste... all of the things that he'd missed while locked away in hell. All the things that he was determined to come back to. "Keep the van safe...."



"...I love you..." With that, he reluctantly released her and headed out of the van, making sure the door was closed and secure behind him. Taking a moment to gather his strength, he took in a deep breath of the cold winter air and trudged through the snow, straight to the 'front line'...

Gambit joined back in the fight once the others came out. He heard Mel scream something and run off. He had no time to worry about her issues, maybe she seen a puppy or something. He was busy knocking heads off!

When Deadpool joined in Gambit gave him a nod and a smile.

Nice of you to join the party. He told his friend. He noticed that Mikko and Gwen hadn't followed, good. They didn't have to worry about the girls at least. So he thought. Then the big turtle joined in followed by the alien. He didn't think Superman was really up to fighting. But the more the merrier.

Wade spouted off a low string of profanities, realizing he was down an arm and the motherfucker was taking its sweet time growing back! Juggling both swords in one hand, he decided to sheathe one, not at all bothered that he was working with a handicap. At worse, he would get mauled or disemboweled. Only minor inconveniences. Fortunately he had not heard what Mel was screaming, too focused on the advancing crowd of Rotters coming towards them...



"I couldn't let you have all the fun!" He chimed, a little too excited to be lopping off heads and shredding the zombies like it was child's play. "Webs is awake, I think he's gonna be okay.." He told his friend rather casually, as if they were discussing this over a safe 'tea time'.



Just then a black suited 'Superman' joined them, still looking shabby but at least he was walking...


"Get your ass back in that van, Crazy eyes.. we don't have time to babysit!! We don't need you! Scat!"

Pete was awake. That was great news! That's great! We get rid of these things get to that mall and I think things will be ok.

Hearing Wade yelling at Supes Gambit rolled his eyes and stopped fighting for a second to catch his breath. Let him help, man. We need all we can get.

It was that short break that was all the undead needed to get the one up on Gambit. As the mutant was catching his breath, leaning on the van, one of the zombie came up from behind and grabbed him and, Gambit swung around to take it out only to have another on him. then another.

Fuck! Little help!

Clark made his way to the others, only to be screamed at by Wade. There was something other than concern in his tone. In fact, there didn't seem to be concern at all... only.. hatred? Unaware of what he had done to Mikko, Clark could only assume that Wade was one of the millions that bought into the theory that he was a danger. That the destruction on the city years ago had been intentional. That he didn't belong here...


Receiving this kind of hate from within the group stung a little, but hopefully in time they would see, all he ever wanted to do was help...


Suddenly Gambit was attacked while Wade was still verbally tearing into him, but Clark didn't hesitate to take action. Sparing no words to the angry red-clad man, Clark mustered up what strength he had, eyes flickering and glowing red as they aimed at the zombies attacking one of their own. Their heads were severed at the shoulders, one only inches from biting into Gambit's shoulder...


The effort was not without cost. Blood poured from Clark's nose and eyes, but he was dead focused, taking out as many of the zombies as he could....

Yeah, Wade was still ticked off about the whole Mikko incident, and maybe he was being a little too hard on the guy. Maybe that distrust was showing through, because he was not letting up! He was so distracted and in the moment, Gambit was grabbed and Crazy Eyes was quick to react, even though the effort was causing him to bleed...


Careful to sty out of the deadly rays, Wade hurried over to Gambit, checking him for any wounds...


"Fuck! Man, are you okay??"

Once red rays started shooting passed Gambits head and taking out the zombies, Gambit stood very still. and once they were all down, he finally let out a breath.

Holy shit! Yeah, I'm good. He told Wade as he checked himself over.

That was some Cyclops shit. Is he ok? Gambit turned to make sure the Alien was alright.

Things were finally looking up for a change. Sure, the world had gone to shit and zombies awaited the chance to rip them apart, but Raph felt pretty damn lucky in this moment. "Aw, crud..." He huffed and wedged a toothpick between his teeth to help curve some of the anxiety. "Looks like it's play time..." With that, Raphael moved to the center of the van and pushed up the roof's hatch and pulled himself up through the opening.



Now standing on top of the van, he accessed the situation. A sea of those things. Dangerous, but if not cleared they would surround and overturn the vehicles....



That was the unfortunate thing about the Dead-Heads. They never tired out. They were driven and determined and wouldn't give up until they reached their next meal....

Leo just rolled his eyes at the stubborn girl as she left the van to take out some of the zombie horde that was coming towards them. After Raph climbed out of the van, Leo followed suit. He glanced at his brother and nodded once before drawing one katana blade. He let out a yell and jumped down from the vehicle and started slashing whatever came their direction.

Clark managed to take out a good many, but unfortunately they kept coming and he was growing weaker by the second. Still, he kept on until he could no longer muster the ability to hold his heat lasers, and his eyes flickered just as he collapsed to his knees, relieved that Gambit was okay...


Senses dulled and a deafening ringing in his head made it impossible to hear or sense the group of undead approaching from behind. In a split second they had him, pulling him deep into their sea of decaying bodies..

"Pfffft, I'm sure Crazy Eyes is fine..." Wade tried to assure his friend, obviously more concerned for him than the Alien. Still checking Gambit over, he shifted just in time to see Clark get pulled into the horde..



"FUCK! They got him....they got him..." And it was in that moment that Wade realized he didn't want the Alien to die. He had saved his friend, after all. "You motherfuckers!!' He hissed as he cut through what he could, trying his best to reach Clark but knowing even if he did.. it would be too late....

Pete carefully moved on top of her as she guided him, breathing quickening and heart hammering against his check. It hurt. A lot. But the excitement he was feeling far outweighed that! Gwen Stacy was kissing him and touching him and.....she loved him?!


It was if the world briefly stood still, he broke from the kiss long enough to meet her gaze, praying he had heard her correctly. She loved him? Was this really happening? Or was he dead and this was his personal Heaven? At any rate....



"I love you too, Gwen. I wish I had been brave enough to tell you sooner.. but I didn't know you felt the same..." A small smile stretched across his lips , but sadly the moment was short lived when he heard his friend scream out. Carefully pushing himself up, wincing at the pain that such a simple action caused, he strained to see what was going on way ahead of them....



"Someone's hurt....I should go..."

Gambit watched in horror as the zombies pulled Clark in and swarm over his body. He pushed Wade out of the way and jumped on the hood of Lois' van.

hold em back for me. and don't mind the tinggiles ya gonna feel.

Gambit wasn't sure if what he was about to try was going to work. he only tossed around cards and rocks and beat people up with a staff, He had used some large things as weapons. But nothing like this. With a large breath, Gambit closed his eyes. He needed to focus all his energy and all the energy around him.

The energy that was in the air, that was in the vans, that was in everything other then living that was fighting for their lives.

hairs started to stand on end, anyone sensitive to electric fields would be feeling very uncomfortable right about now. Gambit opened his eyes, now glowing a deep red. small bits of snow rose from the ground.

A trickle of blood escaped Gambit's nose as finally he released all the built up energy, pushing it forward with his hands also glowing a bright red. The energy washed over the undead crowed in a wave of purple hue, leaving the zombies as dust on the snow.

Gambit didn't have time to be proud that his plan worked. His eyes returned to it's normal shade as they rolled in the back of his head. and he fell of the van unconscious

Gwen always knew how Peter felt. Well maybe not always. But she had a good idea as their friendship grew. She had just always waited for him to make a move. But that didn't matter. She smiled at him and kissed him again.

She heard the scream and when Peter said he wanted to leave the car and see what was happening she held on to his arm and shook her head.

Pete, no. I just got you back. You can't leave me again. Please. Tears formed at the corner of her eyes. She couldn't bare the thought of losing him again, of losing him forever.

Don't leave me.

Indeed, Gambit's magic trick fucking tingled, but that was the least of Wade's worries at the moment. Fortunately it had succeeded in taking out the horde with the combined efforts of the Turtles, but the effort had caused Gambit to collapse. Great.. just great! He would have to find the most obscene way to revive him.


He cast a glance in the direction of the destruction and was surprised to see that Clark was still breathing, but it didn't look good. The zombies had tore him up pretty good and the wounds didn't seem to be healing. Probably still too weak for his Alien DNA to take care of him. This was unfortunate. He would have to be dealt with, but first he needed to try and wake Gambit...



Moving over to his unconscious friend, he knelt down and pulled up what was left of his damaged mask and pressed his lips against his friend's....
