Hollow Heroes [Open to all]

Donatello followed his brothers over the rumble, what looked like to him to be buildings crumbled some time ago obviously used as a great wall of debris to keep away the undead.

Like Raph, don didn't strike to kill those coming at them, military by the looks of some - though among them certainly some that were not and probably trained civilians, surprisingly quiet a few personel.

Then he changed his mind, they were going in guns blazing so he uses a break caused by Raphs bowling to lean over and get MetalHead to begin scanning, look for traces, dna or form known to his programing, Splinters, Casey's and Aprils prioritizing their fathers over the two human family members. The Metal bots 'tickle ray' scanned, he bleeped and led off, Don calling back to his brothers. "MetalHead has a fix on either Dad, Casey or April!" His voice high and excited. One or two or hopefully three of them were here! and alive!

Well he hoped MetalHeads scanner would not differentiate if they were not.

Alarms blared.

"What - whats going on?!" Casey yells out to fellow 'civils' scurrying to take cover, or head to defenses depending on their particular assignments. His instinct was to hurry off and find April, but she would have her own tasks in securing the old still running hospital building and those within, this would soon include most the elder, women and the children.

His was to move to the 'armory' and get armed to help deal with the problem. Usually such an alarm meant a great herd or the undead had come and it would be his and others job to join the guards, the hunters and gatherers and clear the rabble then burn the after math.

This time was different he was thrown an old police chest vest by a sort of friend, Bob, and got a reply from another that there was an attack, hostiles coming over one of the walls! and hurriedly pulled it on. Grabbing the modified gun when handed out to him and hurrying after the group.

Swearing now part of growing mass of those around the point of invasion shoving through leveling his gun at - and dropping it promptly - "MetalHead?! - D d Don?!" disbelief , surprise and complete glee mingling in the shout -

They were here?! - all of them? - he glances around the fighting - yes - yes they were! "Raph!" best bud too!

Gwad the alarm was so loud!

And such an inconvenient moment!

Any one with any skills first aid and up when arriving at the Atlanta compound was immediately enlisted to learn more and help provide a medical staff for those here. the numbers had slowly increased, except the sudden rash of births last year. So having medical personel was very important.

April had had to learn a lot of her new field on hand, a few of them here had already been doctors and nurses so she became an intern so to speak an apprentice. Very on hand learning.

When the alarm went off she started making the boy she was stitching up gasp. "Sorry... oh man..." Hurrying to tie off what she had done placing a patch on the rest of the kids cut. "Come on, to the waiting room." She helped him down and together headed out of the small room. Returning him to his one surviving parent, she hurried to help open the ground floor doors. When that alarm went off most those not able, too old or too young to fight or provide a back up for fighting and guarding and clearing would come here to wait out the emergency.

Casey she knew would be among those providing defensive numbers.

She felt a worm in her gut of worry for him. And Splinter where ever he had been taken too when they had be separated upon coming here - she and Casey had searched here as much they could whilst not attracting attention trying to find him. No luck.

Mikey really didnt want to fight the people, to hurt them, knocking weapons free of hands and knocking some out -

"Really?!" He answers don snapping around in his direction and - gasp -

so shocked - Casey!! - he mis stepped and went tumbling down the rubble Raph had rolled down - obsurdly bouncing a bit on the bottom and face planting with a groan.

He could only listen. He did not know what was going on - alarm was making an awful racket and he was certainly unable to focus much past that.

It had been an alarm that sounded once or twice in his time here - mostly he had learned from eavesdropping mobs of the perished, resurrected humans.

He wondered if this time it was for all the commotion he could hear.

Gambit was in the middle of filling all his pockets with rocks when he heard, and watch, Mikko run off. He stood up and yelled after her then looked at Deadpool.

Deadpool! You need to control your girlfriend! Go after her I'll get Lois in inside. He told his friend.

With his staff secured on his back and a hand full of larger rocks, he went over to Lois. Let's get inside,chérie.

Wade was about to indulge in this subject further, but then Big Red showed off by bowling into a group of men, dispatching them without killing them. And then... Mikko was gone. Gambit highlighted that fact and he looked to the spot she had been standing previously.



"Motherfucker!!"


She had gone inside. He KNEW IT! Even if he had not caught her words. She was gone, and that meant he had two people to save. Well three, considering they were springing ;Alien Sperm' for Lois. Sword held at the ready, he rushed down the pile, taking out any dumbasses stupid enough to cross him, but leaving the one that the Turtles seemed to know. He rushed through the door that had been deactivated by Mikko, barely noticing that it was glowing red with a special form of kryptonite......



He was not prepared for the sight that greeted him inside. 'Superman', bleeding from his nose and mouth and even his eyes, eyes glowing red like a crazed demon. Mikko was within his merciless grasp and ...was that Peter??


Webs, his precious little Webs AND Mikko had become victims to the now crazed 'savior'. And anguished scream as he rushed at the Kryptonian Alien, swords ready to impale, but he only managed to slice the Alien's side open before being grabbed himself, in the same predicament as Mikko,, only... he could not kill him!

Gambit used the rocks he collected to make a path for him and Lois to get to the building with little trouble. He was very thankful for the turtles being there! Finally they were inside, just in time to hear Deadpool scream. Gambit tighten his grip on Lois' hand and ran with her to the room they were all in.

Once there. he let go of the woman and looked at the scene. Gambit was sure Peter was gone, And Mikko, He couldn't use his power on the alien without hurting the others. and IF by some chance the boy and woman were still alive, he didn't want to risk changing that status.

His attention was caught by Toad who was once again trying to get someone's attenion. Gambit Quickly killed the power that was keeping the cage locked and took the jacket and muzzle off the mutant.

There's a van outside. Wait in there for us. He told Toad. But before Toad could leap out, Gambit grabbed him. Don't make me regret freeing your ass. He then let the man go and Toad was gone.

Now for the others.

He slowly walked up to Superman. Hey, buddy. How's about letting them go...

Of course Mikey would have to take the hard way down! Mentally facepalming, he didn't seem to notice the panic when Mikko left. Though Donnie's words seemed to meet his ears, giving him hope. And then, the world seemed to have stood still when a voice called out his name, catching him off guard. Glancing in that direction, he quickly noticed him. Even with the get-up, he would know his best bud anywhere!


"...Casey??" Could this all be just a cruel ream? Had he bumped his head along the way?? No. And this was the very reason that his little brother had lost his footing and taken hard way down...


Tears burning at the back of his eyes, but willing them not to fall.. this was not the time! He tried to remind himself, and as eager as he was to close the distance and noogie the snot out of him, it had been two years... he was wearing their shield.....



Still, he took a step forward, defense completely gone.....

Free! Finally! Toad didn't even bother with thank yous, once he was able he ran out of that building like a bat out of hell! Toad out of hell really. He passed all the fighting, the gun fire. Jumping to safety and finally making it to the vans that Gambit mentioned.

He thought about just ditching all of them. But, then were the hell would he go. Nah, he would stick around, for now.

He opened the door to the van and spotted a young teen inside. He gave her a once over then jumped inside the van and closed the door.

He didn't say anything to the girl. But he did manage to get the fly that buzzing on the other side of her. Shooting his tongue out in front of her face and eating the small bug. Much better then IV food. Not that he was a fan of insects. What he really wanted was doritos!

Leonardo had waited until the others two brothers had caught up before he ascended the rubble. He was a bit peeved that Raph didn't wait for his orders, but he was letting it go before now wasn't the time to get into it with him. Leo climbed up and then over, seeing what was waiting on the other side for them.

"Great," he mumbled to himself as he drew his weapons and knocked a few heads together with the guards, but not with killing blows. Leo knew these people were just doing their jobs and many weren't trained fighters. So he basically just knocked them around a little and continued on while Don surveyed the area.

It didn't take the brainiac long to report back that Splinter, April, and Casey were definitely there. That made Leo's heart soar that they were in this city. However, not knowing the conditions of any of them was still major cause for concern. But, it still gave him hope that things would be okay. They just had to get in there.

Finally with a break in the action, Leo overheard his brothers mention Casey's name. Leo turned and saw their friend dressed as a soldier. Leo sheathed his swords and approached the man, grinning broadly. "Hello, Casey." Since Casey was definitely here, Leo wondered if the other two were nearby.

"Where are the others?"

The young teen sighed guard duty was so boring something rarely happened. Usually it was a walker that would walk by and rarely someone that was alive. Still as soon as enough time that she had decided that the others were gone to long she would go after them. She didn't have to wait long when suddenly some weird guy appeared and entered the van!

" What the ever living fuck?! Get out of here or I will shoot you!" Mel yelled in shock immediately aiming her gun at jumping into the front driver seat. She didn't know who this guy was or where he came from that didn't matter he was an intruder and he had to leave.

Toad was not fazed by the gun being pointed at him. He leaned back on the seat and lifted his feet up on the back of the drivers seat. He folded his arms across his chest.

Gambit didn't tell me I had to deal with a tiny lunatic. There any actual food in here?

Complete focus now on the one that didn't seem to subside, his grip on Mikko loosened, but not relinquishing entirely. The red assassin was lashing violently at him, but Clark managed to keep him at a distance....




Then a familiar voice seemed to penetrate his subconscious, pulling a part of him back to the surface. Red eyes returning to their normal shade of heavenly blue, confusion held within his gaze as his eyes shifted to Lois, hopelessness lost for the moment...


..."....Lois??" And a look of relief as he dropped his victims, tears welling and burning at the backs of his eyes as he pressed into her touch....


"Lo?" A tear managing to slip past his best efforts as he moved towards her, but stopped short as a piercing pain  reverberated throughout his body, gaze shifting down to see the sword that  penetrated  through his back, exiting his chest...hitting the transmitter that released the kryptonite toxins dangerously close to his heart.....

" And he didn't tell me that there might be more rescues. As for food we might have some but it's rationed until we can either hunt or scavenge for more stuff." She said holstering her gun if he knew Gambit he wasn't a threat or he would've attacked by now.

" So got trapped in that place because of your looks or for that weird tongue?" The young teen asked having calmed down stretching in the drivers seat figuring if she was sitting in it she would get a chance at driving it. She was gonna get something out of staying behind with the van and would take it.

Rationed, right. He started to look around the van, the back, under seats where they might have been a candy bar or something. But his focus on food was momentarily halted. He reacted to her words and leaped on top of her, pinning her between himself and the dash.

He glared down at her, his dark glasses hiding his eyes.

Weird? You have an issue with my looks? He asked angrily.

When Mikko was dropped, she landed near Peter on her stomach. Gambit hurried to her and rolled her on her back. He checked for a pulse and not feeling one, checked for a heart beat. Things weren't looking good.

But he wasn't going to give up on her. He started chest compressions and mouth to mouth. Trying to give her oxygen and get her heart going again.

He only glanced up once to see what was happening with Deadpool and Superman and Lois. But went right back to trying to bring Mikko back.

" Hey get off! It was just a question nothing against you! I don't even know you!" Mel yelled trying to squirm loose but was pinned and in such a way she couldn't reach her weapons. She couldn't even squirm into a good position to kick him off. She had to try to hide her fear because he might take it as something against his looks and fear wouldn't do her any good. Still she was scared she was trapped with some crazy man that went nuts. She didn't know him or even heard of him so she had no idea what would set him off or not.

The drive was a long one. Days long. Lots of stops and, having to take other routs due to walkers and road blocks. It was only her, And though she had weapons, She knew it was best to not have to use them and risk getting caught in a horde she couldn't escape from.

She also knew that Peter was in the CDC, and after a month of careful planing she started the long drive.

When she finally pulled up to the place, she noticed that two other vans were there already. Was this a small rescue team? Or hunters bringing in more mutants? She parked and turned the car off. She then grabbed her shot gun and walked up to the van she heard talking coming from. Gwen swung open the door and pointed her gun at the mutant and teen.

Friend or foe? She asked.



Toad was enjoying scaring the girl. But when the door swung open he jumped back into the back seat. If it was the teen that was suppose to be guarding the vans, then it was her job to tell this new woman what was going on.

" I'm a friend don't know about him though." The young teen replied shaking from the scare he had caused. She peeled herself away from the dashboard but kept her distance away from the man eyeing him fearfully if her could do that from a question who knew what else he could do.

" So why are you here?" She asked the new girl needing to ask the question because of her position.

Gwen put the gun down and let out a small breath. She gave Toad a smile and a wave. and he returned it. She then looked back at Mel.

My name is Gwen. My boyfriend is in that building. Peter. I'm here to bust him out! Anyone else in there?

Toad leaned forward and spoke up. Some turtles, Gambit and Deadpool ran in. Along with some human girls.

Hearing that Wade was in there made her hopeful. She knew that the crazy man would do anything to get Peter out of there. So we just waiting here then?

Yep. Watch out for her though. Toad said pointing to Mel. She might think yer weird and insult you.
