Hollow Heroes [Open to all]

Bebop laid still on the ground. His breathing was slow and pulse low. He was badly burned on most of his body and bleeding from many wounds. The warthog needed medical attention immediately.

Overhearing Daryl, Carl knew that it wasn't healthy for Maggie to be out in this. Even though he wanted to just stay there and never get up again, he knew... he had to. For her. Giving a small nod, he stood with her, and walked tucked beneath her arm, offering support, and also accepting it, too. Hearing her offer their room, Carl didn't want to be a burden, but also.... he did not want to be alone...


The fact that Carl needed her closeness right now was Daryl's only holdback from scooping Maggie up and carrying her inside. Though, he walked on the other side of her, in case she needed the additional help...


Glenn was a few steps behind, still trying to steady the vertigo as they headed back inside...


Once inside, Daryl helped Maggie to the bedroom and sat her on the bed, knowing that she probably wouldn't agree with Glenn wanting to go back out there. Sparing a glance at his friend, he knew Glenn was struggling and quickly took Judith from him...


"You alright, man? You lookin' pale...."


Glenn staggered ever so slightly, but fortunately managed to brace himself against the dresser. "Yeah, I'm fine...." He tried to convince, but was never a good liar. He moved over to the bed and sat beside Maggie, resting his chin against her shoulder and meeting her gaze... "I need to go help Daryl.." And he gave her a knowing look, not wanting to mention burying Rick. He knew Carl would want to be a part of that, and Rick had asked Daryl to keep him away...


Carl had followed them back into the room, but remained quiet. Still trying to get his tears under control, he found the darkest corner of the room and sat there on the floor, knees pressed against his chest, arms wrapped around his legs and face hidden...


Suddenly, an explosion could be heard outside...

" You're alive so wake up Bee! Someone help Bebop is hurt badly!" Mel yelled as she dragged him back to the door adrenaline fueling her strength but even then she wasn't strong enough to get him the medical area. It would be to late for him by the time she did.

Gambit headed out into the lobby with Lydia. As they passed the large windows that looked out the front the explosion happen. Gambit stopped and watched as Bebop was thrown from the fire and listened to a man make demands. Shit. We have to put that talk on hold. We have trouble.

Gambit ran to the front desk where there was a speaker that would talk send a message to everyone in the building. He picked up the phone and pressed some buttons til he found the right one.

Gambit speaking. There's a fire out front. Someone looks hurt. and some guys is making demands. All hands on deck.

Toad leaped down next to Lydia. Doesn't sound good.

There were a million different emotions running through Lydia's mind on entering the lobby. First the explosion. Then the scary voice on the loudspeaker. Then there was Bebop who looked as if he were dying, burned and bleeding all over. And then to top it off, there was Toad suddenly standing beside her. She shrieked when he landed, not scared of him just quite startled.

But she hadn't any words to speak at the moment. She literally couldn't. The second she opened her mouth to speak she began crying. She held Shelby over her face to try and hide the fact, though it was fairly obvious that she was.

Once in the bedroom Maggie sat on the bed and let Carl go to talk to Daryl and Glenn, but would be going to sit by Carl soon. When Glenn said he had to go with Daryl she went to protest at first. Glenn clearly was in no state to be going anywhere.

ok. Be careful out there. She pressed a kiss against his lips just as a loud explosion was heard.

The noise caused her to jump and she was quick to make sure Judith was ok and then went over to Carl.

It was then that Gambit came over the loud speaker. There was a fire. someone was hurt. and there was a guy making demands....Everyone is staying in this room. She said sternly.

Raphael did NOT want to lose his faith in Bruce. Maybe the guy was just misguided. Maybe he had lost himself along the way. Hell, that was easy to do. Look how many times he had been misguided and lost...


"But she ain't turned.. people turn by now. I don't think she's gonna..." He told him. "You can't give up on her so quickly... you need to communicate... " He was about to say more, but then the announcement was made....


Wade as in the process of trying to cover Mikko up when the place was put on high alert. The place was being attacked...


"Go back to the room and wait for me... looks like I have work to do..."

Mikko giggled at all the fussing Wade was doing over making sure she was covered up. Didn't think you would put so much effort into getting me dressed. She was soon playfully shooing his hands away, and then things got serious. She was instructed to go back to the room.

She frowned at that. You're not really dressed for battle. Mikko reminded him.

Bruce was going to argue his case more. But then also heard Gambit. We'll have to continue this talk later. Let's see what's going on. Wade. Put cloths on. Bruce ran out of the room motioning for Raph to follow. Might have to gather your brothers together.

Toad looked at Lydia and cringed when she started to cry. He had no idea what to do with a crying girl. He reached over and patted her back a little. There there. It's gonna be alright.

Seeing Mel trying to move Bebop he gave a massive eye roll and ran outside. He leaped over to her and Bebop's body. Not wise to move him. You don't know what's injured. He could have broke his neck and you are stupid enough to make it worse. Are you trying to kill him. Leave him lay still till help comes. He spat.

after repeating his announcment Gambit hung up and hurried back over to Lydia. He pulled her into a hug. and watched Toad talk to Mel. It's going to be ok. We have superman and Batman here. They will take care of everything.

" And he needs help now otherwise he will die!" She yelled at Toad her voice full of anger and worry being scared would do nothing neither would crying. Revenge on the other hand will help her a lot more and make the mall safe in the process. All she needed was her weapons.

..and Clark wouldn't get a chance to investigate whatever was going on. The explosion was heard, followed by the announcement. In a flash, he was outside, and quickly spotted the victim. A young girl was doing her best to get him to safety, but the guy was... large.

Though, he was not a hundred percent, he knew that he needed to be on the front lines, but he could not leave an injured behind. Kneeling beside him, he looked at Mel. "I'm going to get your friend inside, and to the infirmary." He promised her. "I need you to go ahead of me and make sure the medical team is prepared.." He told her, hoping the small job would keep her busy and serve as a distraction from her fears.


The mutant's skin was badly burned and he knew how dangerous that could be, and how painful for non-aliens. Concentrating really hard, he blew on the victim's body,gauging his breath enough not to completely freeze him, but hopefully soothe the pain before using his x-ray vision to check for breaks and internal damage....

It seemed there would be no time to grieve. Soon after settling in his spot, and explosion was heard, then an announcement blasted over the loud speaker. Maggie told everyone they were staying put, but Carl knew who was out there. He knew who was making demands, and he knew exactly what he wanted...


...this was personal. Negan had killed his father, and the monster was here! And he wouldn't stop. Wouldn't stop killing until the mall made a deal to work for him. No...



Waiting until the others were distracted, Carl quietly pushed himself up and slipped out of the room. He had a vague idea of where Bruce was holding 'Lucille', Negan's beloved bat....

Of course all hell was breaking loose. Indeed, this conversation would have to wait until later. Right now, they needed to save their new home. Raph quickly followed behind Bruce, knowing his brothers had to hear the explosion and the announcement. Maybe it would be pointless to search the mall for them... they were most likely already heading out..


But just in case, he pulled his cell and sent a mass text to all of his brothers...



'We're under attack...meet outside!'

It was only now that Wade realized that he was still butt ass naked. Not that he minded going against an enemy like that, but it was cold as fuck outside. "You're right... I need my tiiights! And speaking of tights, I'm going to leave you with Gwen and Webs..." He told her as he headed out of the lab and in the direction of Gwen and Pete's room...

Pete was so carried away with the little wolf cub that it took him a moment to process Gwen's request. He shifted to look at her, and then it sunk in.. "Oh,sure! My bad.." And he shifted to give her privacy, cheeks flushed with color. Heck, he was still shy around her, too.. but he hoped it was something he would overcome...


"You're really beautiful, though..." He told her, wanting to remind her that he thought she was the most beautiful woman on earth and she didn't have to be shy around him. He still wondered how a guy like him had gotten so lucky...



Then, the explosion followed by the announcement. Something bad was happening! Still fighting the vertigo, he pushed himself up and frantically began looking for his costume...

Daryl was thankful that Judith had finally fallen asleep. He gently placed her in her crib and tucked her in, then shifted his attention to the others. Glenn was already reaching for a rifle, but Maggie's demands stopped him in his tracks...


Glenn wanted to argue someone needed to defend this place, still forgetting there were super humans here that could guard it. He didn't want a repeat of the prison... they had lost so much!!


It was in that moment that Daryl noticed that Carl was missing, causing him to go numb. He didn't even waste time considering that the kid had gone to the bathroom or kitchen... no... he knew the boy too well...


"Fuck... Carl's gone..." He huffed. Why couldn't that kid stay put?! They were getting their first taste of what it meant to be Carl Grimes new parents. It was going to take a village, for sure... but then again... it always had...



"I gotta go after 'im, before he gets himself killed.." He told the others, and he could see Glenn's eagerness to join, but it was obvious he was in no condition. "Glenn, keep yer ass here. You know if you go out there, Maggie's gonna follow you. You gotta think about her. Let me handle Carl... and that fucktard on the other side of that fire..." And this was just as much for Glenn as it was for Maggie. But Daryl knew the kid. He always put Maggie first, as any good man should. His gaze shifted to Maggie, and he spoke only loud enough for her to hear. "Don't let 'im follow me. He's barely on his feet..."

Carl had to work fast. He knew by now that the others noticed he was gone. They would come for him... but no. He couldn't let that happen. This was probably his one chance to make things right. To put an end to Negan once and for all. Finding the Sporting Goods store, he loaded his pockets down with ammo for his pistol, then quickly moved on to retrieve Negan's beloved bat. He was surprised that the weapon wasn't under lock and key, but had been prepared to pick those locks if need be..


Holding the bat made him feel sick. It was still stained in his father's blood, bits of hair and dried flesh snared in the barbwire. His stomach churned, and he averted his gaze, deciding not to look at it. Soon, the bat would sport a fresh coat of red...



Carl marched right out, bypassing the chaos of the burned mutant. So full of hate and anger, he couldn't think of anything else, nor could he worry about strangers. This was the moment that Negan would die!


Walking over to the fence line, he glared through the flames, his pistol aimed with one hand, the other beating the bat against the ground, summoning the devil that had caused him so much pain...



"HEY, SHITFACE!! COME AND GET IT, ASSHOLE!!"

Mel didn't say anything to Clarke but saw the boy heading for the fence he had the right idea. Bebop was going to be fine let the adults handle that part. She went to the boy wanting to do something more.

" Why not give me the bat or something so we can use it on his fucking face? Creep almost killed my friend and looks like you know him so let's do something about it." Mel told him ready for revenge.

Mikko gave Wade's ass a good hard smack as he headed out of the lab. She walked with him, holding the sheet above her feet so she wouldn't trip. Once out of the basement she headed to Pete and Gwen's room, but on the way passed a store with a mannequin in the window. And she needed what that mannequin was wearing.

A quick stop and she pulled off the black leather pants and matching leather corset and elbow high, fingerless gloves, and of course she just HAD to have the boots! Not practical wear for the weather, but least she would look good! Holding everything to her chest and trying to hold the sheet on, she continued to the room.

You better be careful out there. She warned Wade. I want you to come back to me in the same condition you left.

Negan's men had the mall surrounded. The fire was just to get everyone to the front so his team could get inside from the back, secure the place, put the fire out and the rest of the group could rush in. Standing on top of his beat up truck, the mad man went to speak again when from the fire he heard a familiar voice. A grin spread across his face and placed the microphone to his mouth.

Is that a little blind mouse that I hear? He cackled. Then in a low, mocking tone he sung. One blind mouse. One blind mouse. see how he runs. See how he runs!

You got something for me, boy? Aw shit, Maybe I'll let you keep her. Probably has enough of yer daddy on her that you could almost make out his face. I was going to let that motherfucker live too! Good guy. But fuck was he stupid!

Toad backed away when the Superman guy went to help Bebop. And he fully expected Mel to help out her friend, or who she said was her friend. But no. She didn't. She rather be with the human boy. Typical human bitch. And she really wondered why he didn't like her?

I hate that bitch so much. SO MUCH FOR YOUR FRIEND UH!? He yelled at Mel.

Toad then hopped forward and alerted the doctors on site. Robbin was first to be told and he started to get things prepared. Toad then found the girl, what was her name? Lilo!

Alien girl! He called out to Lilo. The Warthog got caught up in an explosion. He's not looking good. The superman guy is bringing him to the infirmary.

Gwen thanked him and then blushed at his compliment. Thank you. And you are very super sexy. She said and leaned over to give the back of his neck a kiss. I guess I'm just not use to being seen naked. I think I have a weird body shape.

She slipped out of bed and quickly got dressed. Just in time too. Soon there was an explosion and of course Pete wanted to go see what was going on.

No no no. You are not going out there. There's lots of people in the mall that can check it out. You need rest still. Tell you what. I'll go check it out and come back and tell you if Spiderman is needed. ok?

The little wolf sensing something was off, started to run around, running from the window to the door, and back again.

" Hey asshole come out here like a man instead of being a chicken shit coward!" Mel yelled ignoring Toad her mind was nothing else but revenge. She was through with running away and letting crazy people scare her. She wasn't going to be that girl anymore and all that mattered was revenge and making this place safe again.

When Daryl announced that Carl was gone Maggie immediately put the blame on herself. She wasn't watching him closely enough. It had only been a few moments and she had already failed Rick. Now Carl was out there and was probably going to get himself hurt or worse and it was because she wasn't paying attention to him.

She clenched her jaw tightly and nodded to Daryl. Even thought she wanted to go out there with him, she had to think of her own child as well. Plus, Daryl could handle this, not to mention that by now the others in the mall would have been alerted.

Maggie reached out and pulled Glenn to her and held on to him tightly as if letting him go even slightly would cause him to disappear.

Be careful out there. She told Daryl barely holding back the worry and near panic in her tone.
