Hollow Heroes [Open to all]

Well it looked as though they had a ride, but Raphael STILL had to make contact with his brothers. Unfortunately his phone was completely dead, being one of those that wasn't very responsible when it came to his communicational device. This left him in a real predicament. Sure, he could go home and tell his brothers what was up, but that would waste time and some kid was in danger... and Superman from the sound of it. Unfortunately that would only slow them down and he knew lives were on the line....



He would have told them to go on without him, as much as that pained him. With the would as it was, he looked for every little thing to make him feel self worth. Unfortunately saving humans didn't happen as much as it once did. This would give him purpose... but he couldn't stall them....


Detecting that faint and familiar smell of his brothers, his gaze shifted to the fire escape where Leo was trying to survey the situation. It was only natural. It was odd for Raph to just hang out with humans, but these weren't just any humans...



"Leo!" And he sounded suspiciously happy to see his brothers....

Chasing Leo over rooftops always was fun for Mikey - even these days and he added far more than necessary flips for dramatic showing off - even landing and sliding down a pyramid shaped skylight of one of the roofs, skidding to a halt a air conditioner away from Leo and creeping tot he edge to look over as confused as his blue clad brother -

but hearing Raph he figures their cover was pretty much blown and so stands up and waves back. Noting the pleased tone their red clad brother had upon seeing them. "Raphie!" oh yeah that might earn him a smack up side the head.

First there was the van that would give them all a ride only the crazy one was gonna drive. " If we die because you want to drive crazy then I will haunt you as a ghost. Might even possess you or something." Mel warned playfully and if she could she would make real good use of that threat everything else seemed to exist why not ghosts. As she was putting her backpack in the van she heard the yell Raphie and turned to see more turtles.

" Raphie is that your name or a nickname? Personally Red suits you better and who are those guys? Are they coming with us?" She asked curious were they related or were they friends she had no idea. Either way that didn't really matter all that mattered was that were they coming or not. Supplies would be tight but hopefully they could pull this trip to the CDC off without losing anyone to save Superman and that other guy.

Their fast pace easily brought their way ward brother into view - and his 'posse'.

Chuckling at Mikey's response if wanting to hush both brothers encase they attracted more of the undead Don joined his brothers at the edge of roof top now glad he had MetalHead on alert. Well not much point standing around puzzling over the people Raph had found himself with - glancing towards Leo he nods as ready as Mikey to head down.

Lois glanced around at what she was seeing, knowing they'd need more than one van to hold everyone. Noticing how big the turtle was, and then seeing his family or guessing it was his family by the way they acted just from a distance she got out of the van but didn't stray far. Had all her items inside and needed them in case her father did call. Though didn't want military men around much. She had a whole group of metahumans plus humans that were gonna help her. That was more than enough. Silently she waited to know if they would need another car. Cause those four turtles would take up the full van.

Looking around the area at the cars and vans near by she hopped one had gas, and glad she brought her jumper cables.

"I've got jumper cables and we can check the gas of the other vans near by if we'll need more than one van. Which I think we will." Points out to them.

Still overly excited that Lois had given him the keys, he twirled them around his finger, waiting eagerly to get this show on the road. And then more Turtles showed up and if all were going, they would definitely need a second vehicle.


"Not a bad idea, .uh.. Ginger Spice." He said, referring to Lois, not catching her name. "Or, Sup's bae? Either works.... or you know, just tell me your name...Hi! I'm Deadpool. But you can call me Wade.." And he took her hand, giving it a shake.


"We have no idea how many we're springing from that place, so a convoy is a good idea.. good thinking..." And now he looks at the new Turtles. "If you're cummin'... scout out a vehicle and do it quick. Not to sound hasty but a kid's life is on the line here... and Sup. We need to move..." He blinked. "Which, I know is a bit of a challenge to slow creatures like... Turtles...."

Mikko scooted passed Wade, giving her ass a little wiggle against his front as she slipped into the front seat. She plopped down and made herself comfortable. That's when she looked over and out of Lois' window and saw some, not so lively folk coming their way.

Guys? She said reaching out and tapping Wade's arm. we have more company!

Carl took the offered plate with thanks and never minding manners, tore into the meat like someone starving. The sad truth of it.. he was. They all were. This world often left bellies empty and mouths dry. It was a harsh reality, so moments like this were usually savored and indulged.


"Thanks." Daryl replied as he took the offered cup, feeling a tinge of guilt over Carl's hunger.  He was the adult. The hunter. It was his responsibility to keep the kid fed and yet, he had failed. Meat was scarce, so there was double meaning in his simply word of gratitude to the young woman.


"I dunno. Maybe he's dead now.." He replied about Negan, but knew they couldn't get t hat lucky. "Or.. maybe not. Monsters thrive in this world.." He voiced almost absently as he watched the flames, knowing that like all good things, it would soon have to come to an end. Fires always attracted attention so it was important to stay on the move before anyone that noticed had time to find you. They had gotten lucky that Erica wasn't a threat.

Kurt had been hiding in the tree, a bit away from the humans that had made their camp. he wanted to join them badly. To be around other living people. he didn't even care about the food, he just wanted the company. But they were humans, and he, well, not so much. Still, he had to make an effort. As long as the biker looking man didn't shoot him, he would be alright. He hoped. Taking a big deep breath he teleported himself to a closer tree. Ok, now he had to say something. Say what? Hi I'm a mutant, please don't kill me. No. But hello was always a good start!

So with another breath to gain a bit more confidence. Kurt finally spoke up, though he did not come out of hiding yet.

Guten Tag! he said a bit too cheerful for the occasion. Then toned it down a bit and tried again. Uh. I mean, Hello. Good evening.

He held his breath waiting for a reaction.

Daryl took the leg with a nod of thanks, a little too eagerly perhaps, but understandable considering the circumstances and the times they now lived in. Meals were few and far between and it had been days. He tore into it, much in the same fashion as Carl, too lost in the satisfaction to remember 'manners', another thing that had gone out the window long ago.



Taking  a sip in between mouthfuls, he realized that he had the only cup and passed it along. Carl took a sip, never having been a fan of the stuff, but thirsty enough to drink anything. The bag was noted, and bones would be saved to make rations for another time.


At Erica's question, Daryl was quiet for a moment. "We had a fallback spot, but... they ain't made it yet. I'm sure they just got stalled.... or somethin'..." Being a realist, the red neck could not bring himself to voice his fears. Besides, Michonne and Rick were fighters... they would see them again.....    

Then an unexpected voice issued, nearly causing Carl to drop the coffee tin. Blinking in disbelief, he gave the dark liquid a skeptical look before passing it to Erica, eyes glued on the 'creature'..



"Um... Hello...." Carl greeted, though reached for his pistol, and Daryl was already on his feet, crossbow aimed at the newcomer....


"You got five seconds to tell me how you snuck up on us!" And why the fuck was he blue?!

Oh boy, and he was pointing a weapon at him. Ok. He couldn't blame the guy. Five seconds, He already wasted three. four. Get a grip Kurt!

My name is Kurt Wagner The mutant introduced himself in a thick German accent. I'm a mutant, from the Xavier school. I didn't mean to sneak up on anybody! I just didn't want to scare anyone!

Kurt teleported out of the tree in a puff of black smoke and reappeared away from the crossbow being pointed at him.

I was with a group of others like me. But we were attacked. Not by the undead. But by the living. Humans, looking to use us for some cure. We all got separated. I've been wondering around for weeks!

Leo jumped down from the ladder when he was about three feet from the bottom, gracefully landing on his feet. He knew he didn't really need to be silent anymore since two of his brothers gave away his position. This earned an eye roll from the leader, but he closed the distance betweeen Raph and himself.

"Hello, Raphael," he greeted him, feeling relief washing over him that Raph was still in one piece. "What's going on? And who are your...friends?" He glanced at all of them he could see at the moment even though they were in the car. He ignored the one in red and black because he could tell already that one could be trouble.

Yeah, it was obvious they didn't have time to spare and as much as Raph wanted to help, he didn't want them to slow the group down. As annoying as 'Deadpool' was, the guy and the red-head had a pretty urgent mission. Lives were in danger, and the living were certainly in short supply.


Rolling his eyes at Mikey, Raph moved closer to his family, signaling that it was okay for them to join the little 'passe'. [colorred]"Hey, Mikey..."[/color] And his gaze shifted between all of them, knowing that Leo was no doubt inwardly questioning why the hell he was hanging around with these 'people'.



[color=red]"They have friends... in Atlanta. At the CDC. hose whackbag scientist are experimenting on kids and aliens. And.....he was quiet for a moment. Even though he didn't speak much about it, Raphael still held out hope that their father was still alive, and that hope reflected in those almost pleading topaz eyes.


"...they could... have Master Splinter...." He said in almost one breath. "I say we go.... help them.. and check, just to know...." And he looked at Donnie. "Think that old van of yours has any life left in 'er?" He asked. It had been awhile since they had used the thing, knowing it increased their likelihood of being swarmed by those things if it happened to get cornered.

Damn... Mikko was making it ~hard~ to concentrate, but he had to focus!  "All you humans with the soft yummy insides should probably get in the van..."He said, giving a head nod at Lois and Mikko. He had certainly noticed how educated Lois was and it made sense. Reporters were like that. Well... some of them. Unfortunately there was no time to drill her...(ha!)  For now, it was time to make the chimichangas!


Pulling his swords, he tore into the new horde of flesh eaters, decapitating and sending heads rolling in all directions. A shower of blood as he fought his way through and soon found himself closer to the new Turtles. Four..holy fucking mother of pearl.. four, and they were HUGE! Lois was correct in suggesting they may need a second vehicle.



He could almost sense Leo's eyes on him and did a cutesy wave as he sheathed his blood splattered katanas, noticing the weapons strapped the blue-clad reptile's back.   "This is almost like showing up at the club with that totally unique cologne only to catch a whiff of some other guy mackin' on your  swagger. But it's cool! you wear them well.." And he made a heart with his bloody hands, scoping Leo's face in his finger's 'frame'...

Gambit was going to help with the little horde, maybe, probably. He was pretty comfortable in the back, feet propped up. his staff in the open trunk. Good thing Deadpool had it all covered. Anyway, it was a good way for him to impress his new girlfriend.

Once the dead were more dead. He called out the window to the others.

Let's go! Not like anyone might be dying! We ain't got time for ya'll to be chatt'in!

" Fine just don't hog up all the room. I'd like some leg room too and we don't even know each other's names going to rescue some guy at the CDC. This is so gonna go so well." Mel said sarcastically as she climbed into the van sitting in the back. How were they gonna pull a rescue mission off when they didn't know each other mostly was beyond her.

" So you gonna tell me your name? Gotta call you it or it's gonna be guy that makes things explode." She told the guy in the back she had no idea who he was really. But he wasn't crazy if he was he would've killed her by now.

gambit didn't usually dislike children. he hated them. And Mel was proving to be no exception. He kept himself stretched out, not bothering to move and inch. she could work around him. then she went on about not knowing their names. He introduced himself and Wade, and was pretty sure he heard Mikko say her name.

Gambit, Deadpool. He told her without telling who was who. He then poked Mikko with the toe of his boot. The child wants your name. He said giving Mikko a look that said he was clearly annoyed that Mel was tagging along with them.

Mikko looked over her shoulder and looked puzzled. She gave her name. She then shrugged. Names M&M. I melt in your mouth, not in your hands.

" My name is Melissa Andreas but I go by Mel. I'm not gonna cause trouble except maybe annoy you because I have questions or whatever." Mel said with a shrug not giving a fuck what the man was giving off behavior wise. She wouldn't be able to survive out here on her own for much longer this was her best shot at survival so he could just piss off.

" Who knows we might end up becoming best friends after all this." She commented hoping once the rescue happened the group wouldn't split up or if it did she wouldn't be alone again. It would be better if they all stuck together and it made sense survival wise.

Following Leo and Mikey down to the street level his special head gear down and in place scanning those around them whilst their brother greets them moving a little closer making it known it was okay for the three of them to not hang back.

"Atlanta." And shoving up his tech Don himself felt a surge of excitement. All of them under Splinters words and Leonardo's leading had remained here in New York when Casey, April and their father left for the city of Atlanta hearing something about efforts to go towards a cure in the early months of the out break and then there ha been silence from the trio. This may be the nudge needed to get Leonardo to lead them that way - he had ensured they kept their word to their friends and father by remaining, and hesitated breaking it until they had something firmer than just farewells their friends and father had made it to Atlanta at all. And finally here it was. Meeting Raph's gaze Donatello nods and pulls his tphone free of his belt again. "Yes and been modifying it and any other vehicle we have to run off MetalHead's power source and or solar charge. Well if we're doing this." He answers glancing at Leo then dialling '887853258' quickly and then using the keys to type a short command to the three foot tall metal menace.

With his few balloons let loose in the city the signal would take a moment and then a little while for the bot to grab the van and come to them. But Raphael was not the only one keen to make tracks looking for their father and human friends. Looking to Mikey and Leo he grins. "ready to break our word to father and go find them?" He had a feeling there would be little objection. Partly why he had wasted no more time waiting for response and called for their 'ride' which as he finished speak came around the end of the road towards them all. MetalHead's driving at least had improved.



And having hovered back encase his use of the nickname reserved usually for only the sick and injured and or April earned a bit of rough housing, Mikey bounced forward when there seemed no sign of a smack coming and beamed. "Road trip!?" he cheers gleefully, about time they broke their word and headed out to track down their missing family. "I call shot gun! - will MetalHead be driving?" this made him a little less assured of calling shot gun, the bot had improved but still took to mounting pavements.

Coffee in her lap her meat gripped between teeth Erica had reacted much like Carl and Daryl - her bow always stung in hand and two arrows ready, the first nooked, she had half drawn back not needing full draw power at this distance.

The second arrow rested between her ring and pinkie ready to be moved into place if she fired the first for a rapid second shot.

Sitting as she was even back straight she had to have the bow on an angle but if she loosed it - and she almost did with surprise when the 'blue' mutant poofed out of immediate line of fire of the crossbow - she knew the shot had been dead on course. Hah pun.

However hearing the talk she slowly let the tension out of the string glancing sideways at Carl here then back to Daryl and the newcomer. then laid her bow back down - but it was ready for action. "looks like we might be sharing with one more." A whisper to Carl once she had retaken her meat in hands and sipped the coffee herself, that is if Daryl let the guy stay. More eyes and ears out always useful. And it sounded like themselves the poor fellow had been on his own.

Leo turned to look at the man that addressed him.  Okay, so...they both had katanas, was it really that big of a deal?  The guy in the red and black seemed to think Leo had stolen his look or whatever.  Instead of confronting him with what his brothers would consider as one of Leo's boring lectures, he just shrugged, eyeing one of the blades.  "Uh...thanks, I think."


Leo turned his attention to Turtle Van as it came rolling towards them on the street.  Yeah, even if Leo hadn't agreed to this little adventure, he would be seriously outvoted.  Everyone seemed set on going to Atlanta and maybe it was time for them to move.  Raph was right.  Splinter might be there.  And maybe the others, too.  It was their best shot to be reunited with their lost loved ones.


"I'll drive," Leo stated matter-of-factly.  Metalhead might be better at driving than he used to be, but Leo wasn't allowing a robot to take them across the country.

Well, Big Blue didn't seem much fun! And he not picked up on the fact that Wade had been mildly flirting, if only for the sheer hell of it? Pffft, whatever. "Tight ass!" Wade called after the anal reptile and shrugged as he spun on his heels and stalked back towards the van. It seemed that everyone else was already loaded up and ready to roll out...


He climbed behind the wheel and looked in the rearview mirror, making sure Mikko and Superman's bae and Gambit were all on board. Establishing that they were ready to roll out, he started the ignition and hit the main stretch that would take them out of the city and in the direction of their destination.



Fiddling with the radio, he finally gave up and decided to treat the others to his own rendition of 'Careless Whisper'....

Finally they were off! When Wade started to mess with the radio, Mikko gave him a look of confusion. She was about to make a snarky comment when he started to sing. She smiled at that. Not really the best sounding voice in the world. But better then silence and better then the groans of zombies.

But the music wasn't really to Mikko's taste. So, she reached over and laid a finger on Wade's masked lips to hush him.

Need something a little more upbeat. Mikko cleared her throat. And started busting out Salt N Pepa's Shoop.

Making all the raunchy movements as she went through the song.
