A Charmed Life

Jinx watched Gabe run off, she sat there for a bit but then finally got out of the car. She told Jigs to stay and went into the ally, if Gabe was beating up Corey she felt she had to make sure the kid wasn't going to die. Maybe Gabe just needed a calming voice to simmer him down.

But what she walked on to was an all out gang brawl. This was non of her business. But she couldn't just watch Gabe and Corey get killed. She had two pistoles on her, taking them out she aimed at two of the turks and fired.

The gunfire was enough to send the Turks packing, but they had managed to do some damage. Luckily the knife had missed everything major, but the wound in Gabe's upper back was bleeding profusely. His hand was already swelling, but Corey had taken a beating. He was dazed from being smashed in the head, his nose and mouth pouring blood. He was struggling to get to his feet.

"Go wait in the car..." He told Jinx, but was thankful for her help. This could have had a completely different outcome had she not been there...

He was still livid over Corey's stunt, but the teen did just try to help him. He knelt and hooked an arm under Corey's and pulled him to his feet and helped him to the car.

"You're skull is probably cracked. Don't fall asleep."

Gabe's voice sounded submerged. Corey managed to give a shaky thumbs up and curled up on the back seat with Jigs.

Jinx hesitated but only for a second before running back to the car. She opened the door for Corey and quickly slipped into the front seat.

You two need a hospital. She was speaking the obvious but had a feeling that these two wouldn't be so open to going to see a doctor so she felt it needed to be said.

Gabe climbed into the driver's seat and soon they were heading back for his place. There was more he had planned for the day but the Turks had put a hault on things...

"No hospital." Gabe had a phobia of hospitals. The Dragons had their own doctor but he hated to be an inconvenience. Plus, he would have to explain things to Hun.

"And, I can't take him back to Lydia like this..." He gestured back to Corey, who was struggling to stay awake. Realizing that he wasn't going to be taken back to Lydia's was upsetting. He pushed himself up and tried to open the door, but his vision was off and he grasped everything but the door handle....

Jinx frowned at that. I can patch you two up some, if I had the right tools.

Jinx turned to look at Corey, she reached back and tried to push him back down.

Dude, what's your plan? To jump out a moving car? Sit tight.

After yoga they had a day to get ready for and things to do, Lilo off to some classes on political matters and then the had to travel with Stitch to older parts of the city for photography shots. So after a shower and a muffin if two Lilo and Stitch headed out into the big bad city.

Ericas work was mostly online and assignments today so she got to work on those after a shower, munching on a muffin and getting some of the dinner stuff ready. She wasn't nervous about the meeting later. And Lilo certainly hadn't been.

Orca lounged in the sunlight on the open fire escape window sil.

Corey was suddenly pushed back in his seat. Jinx was right. He didn't have a plan, all he knew was he did not want to be in this moving car headed back to Gabe's place..

"I wanna go home...back to Lydia's..." He corrected, before Gabe could make some jab about him being homeless.

The adrenaline was wearing off and Gabe was beginning to feel the pain of the attack. He pushed back in his seat to apply pressure on the wound, but tried to hide his own discomfort.

[b]"Yer girl is workin' right now, man. She sees you like this, she's not gonna be able to do that. I can't take you back to her like this...." He told the teen as they pulled up to his place and parked. He looked at Jinx and sighed. [b]"Ive got a first-aid kit, suture thread and needles. I hate to put this on you, but we can't go to the hospital..." If she couldn't do it, he could call Cindy, but there would be the chance that Hun would find out and he wasn't ready to explain everything.

Jinx was pretty confident she could stitch up Gabe. But Corey needed to be in a hospital, he needed an x ray or a cat scan or something on his head.

I can patch you up, no problem. She lowered her voice. But Corey might have bleeding in his brain. There's not much I can do for that.

That was not the answer that Gabe wanted to hear. Of course he didn't expect Jinx to be able to do x-rays and cat scans, but he wanted, no, NEEDED for this to be an easy fix....

Glancing back at Corey, he knew the teen needed more intensive care. Blood had invaded the interior of his right eye ball, leaving it a sickly reddish-black coloration.

"Fuck." Gabe hissed under his breath.

"Let's get inside. I'll call Cindy and see if she can access that equipment without Hun findin' out. If that fails, Lex volunteers at Children's hospital, maybe she can help. Just have to be careful because if the cops get involved, it could be bad."

Honestly Jinx didn't understand what was so bad about going to the hospital. Maybe the cops would come, maybe not. They could have just said that they were jumped by some guys in mask, and say that the red suit dude came in and saved the day. Everyone was wearing mask so it wouldn't be like they were ratting any one out.

But she wouldn't argue. If Corey died though, Gabe would have bigger problems.

Once they were parked in front of Gabe's apartment. Jinx gave a hopeful nod and thumbs up and got out the car. She helped Gabe get Corey inside and laid him on the couch.

Ok, You , take off your shirt and tell me where your supplies are. She ordered Gabe as she headed to the kitchen to wet towel. She poured cool water over the clean towel and ringged it out then returned to Corey and placed it on his head.

I know it's going to be hard but try to stay awake.

Gabe and Jinx managed to get Corey inside and onto the couch. Gabe then retrieved the first aid kit and returned to the living room, then removed his bloody diamond filled hoodie, and the wife beater underneath.

Corey was curled up on the couch, content for a moment, but then he stood up without a word and stumbled towards the door...

"Wow...what the fuck you doin,' man? You can't go out there like this." Gabe huffed as he blocked his path.

"I'm going home." Corey's tone was slurred, but he was determined.


Gabe sighed. The kid was gonna be difficult. "Lay back down. I'll call Lydia and get our doc over here to check you out. Your head is not okay, you can't be walkin' the streets."

Corey didn't want to be here, but it was clear that Gabe wasn't going to let him out of that door. He sighed and headed back for the couch and laid down.

Gabe pulled his phone. Hesitating for a moment. He did not want to call Lydia, but it was the only way he was going to get Corey to cooperate. He finally dialed her number and waited...

And Corey was up and trying to leave, he had determination she had to give him that. But once he was handled she sat Gabe down on a stool and while he was on the phone started to take care of his wound.


Back at the tattoo shop Lydia wasn't very busy. She was just drawing sketches in the back and doing clean up. When her phone rang she checked the caller ID and frowned. Why would Gabe be calling her? Something must be wrong. She answered.

What's wrong?

Of course Lydia had to ask 'that' question before he could even say anything. Gabe was trying to stay as still as possible as Jinx worked on him....

"Everyone's alive. We ran into some trouble. I'm about to call the Dragon's doc to come by and check your boy out, but he keeps tryin' to leave. Figured maybe you could come here to keep him calm til we know what needs to be done..."

Lydia wasted no time to get up and grab her keys.

You guys at your place? I'm on my way there now, be there in five.

She stood on the phone as she told her boss she had a family emergency and soon she was on her way.

Spike has been shot. One of Jinx' bullets had hit him in the shoulder. Not A life threatening injury but the bullet was still in there. Hospitals were avoided at all costs, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity to pay his ex a visit....

He had gotten word from another Turk that she was staying at the old apartment complex in Dragon territory....and she wasn't alone. But, that wouldn't stop him from dropping in.

It took some investigating and a lot of going to the wrong doors, but he was finally outside the right apartment, knocking vigorously.

Mikko had fished off Vic and was now in the livingroom chilling on the couch flipping through her phone. Maybe she should take the band out and show them around. Yeah they would all like that.

Before she could suggest that to Vic there was a knock at the door. Not just a knock but it sounded like someone was in trouble. So she quickly got up and opened the door.

She was NOT expecting to see Spike standing there. And flood of emotions hit her but she came to her senses quickly.

Nope! She said and went to shut the door on him.

Vic was also chilling on the couch, looking through 'musicians wanted' ads on social media. Maybe today he could talk to Lydia about her studio friend. And of course he was down for whatever Mikko had planned. Dave had gotten his shower and left to go apologize to Sam, so when the knock came, he expected that it was him returning....

Nope. It was some guy that Mikko obviously didn't want there. He stood up and headed over to assist in case the guy tried to cause issues.

Spike wasn't ready for the instant rejection and pushed back on the door.

"I just need a favor .." He told her.

Vic gave Mikko a look. "Want me to get rid of him?"

Gabe hung up with Lydia and looked over at Corey. "Your girl is on her way. About to get you some help..." With that, he dialed Cindy and waited anxiously for her to answer.

Mikko sighed and finally opened the door.

Nah. he's cool. Mikko told Vic and let Spike in.

Spike, this is my boyfriend Victor. Vic, my ex Spike. Wellthis is awrkawrd for me.

But then she noticed his bleeding shoulder. I'm guessing you need that shoulder patched up. let me go get my kit...You two don't fight.

Cindy had been working with the Purple Dragons for a couple of years now. Hun paid her well to keep his men alive. She had her own clinic. it was small but it had most of the things she needed. Her phone rang and she reconized Gabe's number.

She didn't have all the dragons on her phone, but Gabe being Hun's right hand man made him important enough to have his number.

What's up, Gabe?

Gabriel was relieved when Cindy answered. "I need you to come over. I think Corey's head is broken. Bring the good drugs."

A broken head? He may need some pictures taken. You should bring him here. I know you hate hospitals, but you also know my clinic is private. You don't have to worry about cops. Just bring him to me. And I'll take care of it.

Jinx finshed up and put a bandage over the stitches.

And as soon as Jinx was done, Lydia was knocking at the door.

Not only was it awkward for Mikko, it was awkward for Vic as well. He gave the guy a nod when introduced and headed back for the couch.

Spike was disappointed to hear that Mikko had a boyfriend. He eyed Vic skeptically. "Why do you look like Marilyn Manson? "


Vic wrinkled his nose and shrugged. "I don't."

Spike flopped down in the recliner, making himself at home.

Mikko went back to her old place that still didn't have a door. She grabbed the first aid kit and a suture kit then went back to the boys.

So, who shot you this time? Mikko asked setting everything next to the recliner. She got a clean wet rag, helped Spike take off his shirt then got to work cleaning the area.

Vic, can you see if we have something strong to drink. It'll help numb the pain when I start digging out this bullet.

That was not what Gabe wanted to hear. Even if Cindy's clinic was private and just for Dragons, he hated any kind of hospital. But, it was clear that Corey needed more than at home treatment.

"Fine. We'll be there in ten minutes. But...not a word to Hun. Please. " He hung up just as Jinx finished him up and Lydia was now at the door. He opened it and gestured her inside.

Seeing Lydia earned a shaky smile from Corey as he painfully pushed himself up into a sitting position. "Ready to go home?" He asked her.

Gabe shook his head. "We gotta take you to Cindy, man. You have a concussion...gotta know how bad it is."
