New Beginnings *Six years later* (December) *Hamato Clan*

Daryl waa relieved to have his family back together. But hearing Michonne's question reminded him that they were missing one. Judith. Michonne didn't have to speak of the arrangements that Carl had made for his sister in his final moments. He knew. There had always been an untouchable closeness between Carl and Michonne. The boy trusted her above all else.


"Yeah, go help Lil Asskicker." He told her, just as the Troll made an appearance...

Daryl watched her closely, having seen plenty of unexplainable beings in his time, but she was quite different. Polite, but different.

He glanced at the offered clothes, not sure what was wrong with what he was wearing....bloody and wet from rhe snow. Maybe that's why...


He took them with quiet thanks, giving a small shrug when she offered medical attention.

"Stitch got the bullet out... think Dwight needs more help than me. He got shot, and bashed over the head. Sounds like they're beatin' around the bush about what to do for 'im... " And it was frustrating not being able to help.


"Where you from?"

There is little I can do for your friend, sadly. The best I can help with is pain. But I agree, they must act more quickly. My names is Dieair. SHe finally introduced herself.

I'm a troll from Azoroth. It's a world far from here. I'm still learning the ropes around here.

Michonne excused herself and went off to look for Judith.

Dieair applied the flower paste to Daryl's wounds. This will get rid of your pain. Though you seem like someone who can handle a bit of pain, this will at least help your body heal and maybe you can rest and get some sleep.

Sandy crawled beside her dad and watched the troll carefully. What is that?

Firebloom. It grows in the forest of Silverpine. Don't worry little one, It'll help your father.

Sandy nodded at that and let out a tired yawn. The girl was ready to fall asleep. But was also excited about this new place and new people. And she wanted to share all this excitment with Noah!

A nod. And he finally makes the connection. He doesn't like it. But their not Bruce and don't go making decisions for people or thinking they can.


And most importantly he will trust in Sherry.



After making sure the blood is moving he backs away a little. " Alright this young man here will monitor you - we will let the transfusion go for ten minutes. Then rest you and see how Dwight is doing." He glances over his shoulder, Mikey was organising water - and food would probably be coming soo. Other medical personel were tending the last hurts and keeping clear of kitchen hands.


Leonardo is quietly simply helping out. Pretty soon when people are settled he'll probably give these people a talking too. there is a lot of grief and loss and shock still so he doubt it will be more than commiseration and a little info about the Pigsty and Community. And well he hated to be the one to tell the sister in law about this.


Thanking the ladies and the youth monitoring the transfusion Donatello moved on like the others checking last minute hurts. Making sure fluids and other transfusions were in working order.

Finally Mikko was hooked up to Dwight and blood was flowing to him. With any luck her blood would start to not only replenish what he lost but also heal his wounds, including his cancer.

Mikko sat in her chair close to the bed and gave Sherry a smile.

He's going to be fine. He should be good as new after this.

The life-saving blood flowed from Mikko, through the transfusion tube and into Dwight's almost lifeless form. There was no immediate progress at first, and as the minutes ticked on, it may have seemed that their efforts were too late. Fortunately, the blood was slowly doing its job, replenishing and healing and battling the intrusive cancer in his struggling lungs..

The gunshot wounds began to heal, as did the gruesome gash in his head. Fractured skull mending in time with his mangled scalp. What should have been another nasty scar if he survived on his own, healing before everyone's eyes..


As the blood slowly replenished and revitalized dying organs, the foreign blood cells fought against the ailment that would have eventually killed him...

His unconciousness had spared him of the overwhelming pain, but with the replacement of blood, he was slowly coming to. Mikko's blood felt like lava burning through his veins....it was excruciating...as if he was being burned all over by Negan's hot iron again...

His scarred face grimaced with the obvious torment as his bloodshot eyes slowly fluttered open, confused, fingers digging into the cot beneath him...

He was greeted with instant overwhelming nausea, managing to shift himself before it hit, vomiting a bitter mixture of blood and stomach bile..luckily missing the bystanders, and the one saving his life....

Sherry grabbed a towel and helped clean up Dwight. She was worried that Mikko's blood was not agreeing with him, but it was healing him. You're ok. She told Dwight.

Mikko is giving you blood. It's healing you. You're going to be alright. Just hang in there.

Mikko shifted herself over a little but couldn't really go anywhere.

nausea is to be expected after getting a bat to the head. She told Sherry. I wouldn't worry too much. He's looking better at least.

April is moving among the settled people, reaching Glenn and Maggie and the kids and recalling the last time she gave him blood. " Hey guys... been a while, heard you drove the road blade - have fun?" a grin and nod at Glenn and smiling about at the collection of them. " Food will be around shortly and fresh cloths."


Casey was going the other way around the room, and there was their tall Donnie.

Hearing Sherry's voice was a reassurance, knowing that she was here...she was safe. And he wasn't alone. He also heard Mikko's voice- his blood donor. Her blood both tormenting, and healing...

He gave Sherry's hand a squeeze, trying to reassure her that he would be okay, if not fully convinced himself. The pain was excruciating....

..and the healing did not stop with the recent, life threatening injuries. The scars that had adorned half of his face slowly began to fade.. the familiar tightness of dead tissue eating, giving way to smooth skin....

Noah gave a small nod at his mom. If she said everything would be okay, the. It would be okay. Still, he wa ter to go home, but knew that wasn't possible. Their home had been destroyed.

Glenn carefully handed Logan over to Maggie, and was trying to convince Noah to get some sleep when a familiar figure approached, earning a tired smile. He remembered her from all those years ago on what had been the worst night of his life.

"Heeey, long time no see.." He greeted, closing the space between them and wrapping his arms around her in a tight hug. He would never forget what she had done for him. Gave him a second chance. Because of that, he got to be around to help raise his boys, and now they were expecting again...

"Heh, loads. Wouldn't mind having my own, juuuust throwing that out there.. " He teased, releasing her from the embrace.

At the mention of food and soy clothes, he gave a small nod, the same tired smile, but conveying his gratitude. "Rgank you. We appreciate everything you and your community have done, and are doing for us."

...and now Noah reeeeally wasn't going to sleep! He slipped from the bed and approached, staying close to his dad, but offered the woman a shy wave.

Sherry was amazed at how much and how fast Dwight was healing. When his face started to heal she grabbed a mirror that was close by and showed him.

Look, babe. You're healing all up. But if it's hurting you too much we'll stop the transfusion.

Maggie took Logan in her arms and held him close as he continued to look around. The boy was so confused. SHe greeted April but was too excusted to get up at the moment.

Sandy came running over to Noah and started signing to him.

There's a troll here! And giant rats! This place is crazy!

Mikko noticed that all the turtles were around except for Raph.

Where's Raphael? He didn't want to come and say hi? She asked no one in piticuler. She knew about the egg but of course had no idea his little one had hattched. SHe would be excited to learn that.

" Raphael is currently busy else where if he chooses to come he will." Leonardo answers, even in this busy place where he is moving among his community helping them settle and feed and water the survivors of the Tree Houses he is like a ghost and no matter how big can dodge his way through the lot of them.


And no he would not be encouraging this woman to go making moves on his brother or vice versa. Partly because he recalled her from the mall and she wasn't the most stable or sound person. And well who knew when she might revert back to that person eating thing? But also because of his brothers recent heart ache. So his tone is friendly and reassuring but doesn't tell her anything really. Not his place to say and not her business to know unless Raphael decides otherwise.


Then he is noting people are mostly settled and he raises his voice. Not to a shout. He rarely had to shout to be heard, voice and presence seeming to fill the room. His people don't pause in what their doing. But they do it more quietly and he knows he has their attention at the first words.


" May I have all of your attention please?"


And he will pause and wait, moving again like the spectre he sometimes could become and a gentle hand on Judith's shoulder, so light squeezing it - a little push towards Daryl, to Michonne - go rest her people were safe and tucked in and be attended to - her turn for some care. He waits until the TreeToppers also gave him attention - patient. Eyes taking in this hastily converted for them all.


Even his brothers heard the tone of voice and pause. Mikey over by Laz and Lexi now to help them accept drinks and food. Light foods meant to help ease shock and promote hydration, crackers and fruits. Along with water.


And Donnie pausing mid checking the stump that remained of the little girls arm, Stitch had done a remarkable job at the injury and he hums a little. He recalls this girl too from the mall, and as far as he knew she had not quiet let go of the habits that monster Negan had left her with so he would have to factor that in the replacement limb. No way was he building and giving her something with Stitch and Jumbas help that she could use to hurt others with. Then Leo was talking and he paused. Like the others.

Dieair finished up with Daryl then moved on to Laz and Lexi. She offered them clean cloths which Laz happily excepted. He would need help changing though.

When Leo started speaking she stood up and turned to him to listen to what he had to say.

It was true. Raph had helped out with his niece and nephew, but now with his little one, he was second guessing himself.

So he let her walk him through the motions, a sigh when Erica's efforts produced quick results. Everything was working. She was burping.

Unaware of what was happening at Pigsty, he carefully took his now sleeping daughter back and cradled her in his arms...

"Thanks... seems like it's been awhile since I helped with yers, guess it's like ridin' a bike..."

Their voices sounded submerged. He could see his reflection in the mirror, scars that had covered half of his face for seven years now long gone... but nothing made sense at the moment...

He could almost hear Sherry's blood flowing through the veins of her wrists.. almost smell it, mingled with the scent of Mikko's and his own.. a burning hunger arose and an overpowering need to sink his teeth into her wrist..but he fought it. Wincing, exposing pointy canine teeth that had developed to aid in adapting to the mutation... to sink into and open a vein, or tear flesh from bone...

He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to steady the dizziness and confusion. Deep breaths. The smell of blood overpowering...

Slowly, he pushed himself up and eyed the transfusion tube for a confused moment before pulling the needle from his arm and removed it from the tube, placing the end of the tube in his lips, allowing Mikko's blood to flow into his mouth....

Everything was going well, well...Dwight seemed to be in pain and Sherry nor Mikko knew if that pain was because of what he went through or if it was a side effect of the transfusion. When Dwight sat up it concerned Sherry and she went to try and help him steady himself though he seemed to be doing fine.

But things soon took a...darker turn.

He pulled out the tube and started to drink from it.

Sherry looked on in horror and turned to Mikko.

Mikko went to pull the tub out of her own arm but stopped. if he stopped getting blood from her he might attack someone.

I think he might have got some walker side effects. Mikko stated.

Dwight? Babe? Are you ok? Sherry stood a good distence away scared to get close to him.

A situation like that could not happen without Leonardo dropping his I'm going to give you guys the basic verbal tour to leader - he doesn't have to glance around to know who of his community are wearing the appropriate body armour or have it close to deal with the situation. " Containment procedures please." A light snap of 'now' in his tone. Light because he commanded such respect among the community in the Compound and the Pigsty he didn't have to force or throw his weight around.


April was chucklign as the hug drew away and grins widely... though if faded a little into worry at Leo's
call to containment. Though it wasn't an emergency situation if he was calling contain and not eliminate. " Well I guess you guys are going to be here for the Snoggletog, our sort of annual celebration of survival so you can probably get a little more practice in and find on that suits you. Oooorrrr alternative request aid in building your own." she suggests as Casey swings into action. Leo didn't have to look to know she and Casey were the two at the moment dressed in the protective mutant turtle hide suits.


The kind built out of the guys bullet proof shed skin and scutes. Hers and Casey's being they were in a relationship with Donatello had purple highlights as Erica's had the blue.


Casey was on the situation so April hung back to help Maggie and Glenn settle their little family before she would move on to others.

Mostly he'd been putting away the cars.


And that included getting the one the Joker brought and taking it to the part of the carpark that held other reasonable conditioned variety of vehicles ready to be wrecked and converted either into zombie algae fuel users, armour or solar or even infrastructure depending on the need of the materials.


Now he comes back in time to be disappointed the forth coming talk about the Pigsty and Compound was for the moment held back and he makes sure his purple lined body armoured suit was in place putting the mask over his head to ensure those teeth would find no purchase in any of his specially prepared bullet proof Donnie shed skin and scutes, speaking to Mikko and Sherry. " you ladies will have to come with me and Donatello to the containment area please." oh yeah look at him being all polite, he'd recalled years ago knocking out Mikko for eating someone alive.


Donatello had switched places with Lilo when he noted Dwight going for blood. Whether it was just Mikko's he was after or would be a danger to the others they didn't know but he needed to be isolated and 'contained'. Not so much Mikko or Sherry but they had a right to know where he was being taken. With Casey protected from bites he is forcing Dwight back onto the bed by his shoulders whilst Donnie uses good ol' handy duct tape and restrains him to the make shift wheelie chair bed. Then Donatello undoing the tubing and duct taping any puncture wounds on Mikko and Dwight before taking the bed - Casey standing back and as Don begins to wheel away the chair and it's occupant Casey gestures for the two ladies to follow him.


It wasn't far, the containment area. Unlike the drunk tank holding cells and main rooms of the old police headquarters these rooms probably used to be rooms for dangerous and or danger to themselves criminals. They passed a few guarding, giant rat and human pairs on the way. And these rooms were locked. Their own prisoners who did not choose exile for their crimes... only two - because most who committed theft or domestic violence or assaults of that calibre usually chose to be exiled. Some even choosing to accept the trail versions of vaccines and live close enough to be visited by Jumba and or Donatello to see how it progressed.


" is he turning?" Casey asks.

When Casey and Don started strapping Dwight down she couldn't believe it! Mikko stood up in protest.

This is uncalled for! He's not turning. he dosn't need to be locked up he just woke up confused.

Both women followed still calling out protest and making a scene. Others glanced in their direction as they passed them. It got the attention of Michonne who walked up to the group.

What is going on here?

Sherry filled her in on what had happen and sadly Michonne agreed Don and Casey that a night and only a night in lock up would be safeist.

Leonardo cleared his throat. " actually it might be necessary to protect Dwight from himself and others..." yeah Mikko clearly had learned nothing if this was her reaction when clearly they were the ones acting with caution for all involved, surely she could grasp that simple notion? Considering the world they lived in.


And to Michonne he cautions lightly, " If there is no danger from Dwight to himself or others by tomorrow night yes." She doesn't get to make time demands here. " you all are not prisoners in here, please go with and reassure yourselves he is being cared for as best to our abilities and that yous can remain close and or visit." Because it was a safety measure only, nothing more.


He is calm of voice and presence and the women would have to follow to keep up with Don and Casey in any case. They wanted to make a scene but it was unnecessary. Unlike containing a possible threat for everyones safety.

" You are a very excellent uncle, they adore you. They adore her already... you will be a excellent father too." A chuckle and she is not reluctant per say but slow to let Raphael take back his daughter - the look she had for the little one all the same she did her own. " more like riding a multi tandem bicycle up a loooong bumpy hill," she gently pushes the big mutant towards his bed. " even if you forget, or worry... or get tired or need help... you have all of us. And it's okay to second guess yourself, though you do know this. And Leo and I have discussed things, I won't be far away whilst she is breastfeeding."


Of course they discussed things, there was nothing if anything they didn't talk about in the wee hours alone together.

Michonne's eyes narrowed.

I can respect what you are trying to do here and I agree, some. What I don't agree with is the process in which you are doing it. Dwight looks well enough to walk and be reasoned with. You may be leader of this community but I will take care of my own men.

She stood in front of the wheel chair arms folded letting Dwight have a chance to speak up.

I also would like to know what you are doing with our vehicles.

Leonardo is unaffected by her narrowing of eyes. He still remains calm.


" Dwight will not be restrained long. And honestly as a leader you should know that being overly cautious is better than acting too late. And as welcomed guests here our procedures may seem harsh but they are for everyone's safety." So their scene causing and her worry was understandable but thoroughly uncalled for. And considering Dwight was going for blood it should be entirely clear to Michonne, as a leader, why the containment was done swiftly and with care taken to prevent possible harm to Dwight himself and or others.


It was not a moment to see if he could be reasoned with out here.


So why was she making a further scene?


He's not interested in a power play if that's what she is angling for here. He has no desire to oust her as Leader or force anything but he will be firm and overly cautious where necessary for all their safety sake. He'd learned what NOT to do at the Mall thanks.

The taste was overpowering. Metallic and sweet, the hotness warming him from the inside. It was almost instinct. Having awoken with such an unbearable hunger, and this was the only thing that could calm it...

But soon he began to come to his senses when Sherry spoke, breaking the trance. Mikko's blood becoming less sweet and alluring once he got his fill...and then the realization of what he had done...gaging on the last sip as his scared and confused gaze fixating on Sherry who seemed....afraid of him? Why was she so far away?

The transfusion line was yanked from him before he could drop it...

...so much confusion... and the overwhelming burning pain of his host's blood almost crippling as it battled the deadly cancer cells within...

..and he was being restrained...this all felt very familiar... the Sanctuary...the hot iron. His face melted away. The horrible infection that had almost claimed his life...the isolation from Sherry... losing her...


" No...no...stop it...LET ME GO!" He seethed, once hazel eyes taking on a hazy red coloration. He was not in the here and now but his past returning. He tugging violently against the restraints, but oh so weak.. and while healed, still incredibly sick...
