Age: counted by annual whale migrations. Seventeen.
Family: Unnamed pod of ten inter related females and three non related males.
Affiliation: Her Pod. Called Ne Hwas (Passamaauoddy Indian Tribe given name.)
Status: Alive, currently youngest member of her pod.
Portrayed by: Eline Powell.
Given the name Ryn by humans and only uses it around the few that know of her kinds existence.
Early Life:
Ryn has known a infanthood and childhood full of humans noise. Avoiding them, learning to be a part of her pod.
Okay not all!
Her people had some contact with some humans. Baring names from those interactions. But for most the part they live in deep waters, travelling among migrations of dolphins and whales to hide, and avoid sharks and orca!
Then...
It grew loud and scary and the pod fled to the wildest islands.
Now their back! Migrating again.
And now, it's quiet.
For most the part, quiet.
And the pod is able to hunt in shallower waters, fish began to return, and predators.
And sometimes the humans that they met now were dead.
Whatever is reawakening the dead humans and turning them predatorially against their own doesn't seem to affect sirens.
Physical Appearance:
In her human state, Ryn, is slim figure, fair skin, long dark brown hair, and bright blue eyes which are her most defining feature aside her cheekbones.
As a Siren, Ryn has the upper-body of a human and the lower-half of a spiky, long dolphin or whale like tail with powerful muscles, large flukes and a defensive spike that usually lays along her flukes lowest edge. Along with that, she has small sharpened teeth, large eyes and three gill slits on either side of her collapsible ribs. Fingers are webbed between her and are tipped with razor-sharp claws in place of normal fingernails. Her pectoral fins, which help her move left and right, are half the length of her tail. Her dorsal fin is even longer, stretching from the base of her neck to near the tip of her tail. Like all mermaids, Ryn's spinal vertebrae extend all the way to the tip of her tail, which, combined with the many muscles that make it a powerful limb, makes her tail much more flexible than her legs when she's in human form.
When transforming she sheds her claws and tail.
Personality
As a siren, in her natural environment and even on land she can be an menacing predator. But also a prey item she is wary and shy and nervous of moooost humans and especially the dead ones.
Though there is a lure of to the human work for a very curious siren like Ryn, she exudes a balance of innocence, naivety with dangerous animistic instincts a excellent memory, and capacity to learn and mimic languages. Stronger, faster and resistant than humans, even males about her size and weight.
She heals a lot faster than humans, this healing process is accelerated in her mermaid form.
She can confuse people's minds and lead them in a state of madness by singing a particular song composed with lots of frequencies, or take away the pain from living beings with her voice. Or calm them.
Doesn't affect the dead humans at all.
Trivia:
*Her name is also a town in Poland.
*Her weight is 196.6 lb (almost 200)
*Her body temperature is 92.2 (6.4 degrees lower than the average human body temperature)
*Male sirens leave their mothers pod to find small bachelor groups, then they find a unrelated pod of females to attach to for several whale migrations before moving on. Females are more aggressive and dominate usually, and each pod has a matriarchal elder female. Males act more as protectors as well as fathering small ones.
