A New Hope

The first day of living in their new home had started. Evelyn had woken up Mikko and the two of them quietly got out of bed trying not to wake Gabe.

The little girl was hungry and Mikko gave her what food they had Then came the question that Mikko was dreading, Evelyn wanted to know where her dad was. Sitting the little girl on top of of a stool Mikko knelt in front of her.

Remember when I told you about my family, and how they all went to paradise? And remember when we talked about miss death?

Evelyn nodded.

Well daddy got hurt real bad and miss death had to take him with her to paradise. Now he's with my family.

Will he come back? The little girl asked.

No. But he can see you. They are all watching over us. And oneday miss death will take you to see him. But that wont be for a very long time.

Evelyn nodded her head. The little girl had no tears in her eyes. Mikko wasn't sure she understood or not. But she seemed to except what was being said.

Will you die?

No. never I promise.

But I'll die?

When you are much older. Yes. And your daddy will be waiting for you.

She nodded her head. I'm thirsty.

With a deep sigh Mikko took that as a sign that this conversation was over for now. She grabbed a bottle of water and gave it to Evelyn.

Maggie had a hard time sleeping and it seemed when she finally got to sleep she was woken up by Logan. She rolled over and slipped out of bed with groan.

I wonder when they're surving breakfast. Or maybe we have to go get it ourselves. IS your brother awake?

Logan shrugged and walked over to Noah to poke him with his foot.

Don't poke your brother. If he;s sleeping let him sleep.

Joker woke alone in his bed. He reached over expecting Ally to be there but there was only air. He sat up with a frown. It seemed he didn't make a good impression on the woman and she decided not to stick with him. And he thought himself charming.

He stretched and slid off his cot. The cot was uncomfortable and he would be asking for a real bed.

Using the bar on the top of the door of the cell, Joker started his work out. He didn't bother getting dressed leaving on only a pair of sweat pants.

He used the cells bar for chin ups. There was no reason he couldn't stay in shape while in this place. After his work out he would go look for Ally and see why she didn't come back to him last night.

Dieair was up before the others. She was use to getting up with the sun. Her mission for the day was to make more arrows for her bow. She had a few left, but knew that if those dead things came she would need more. The fight at treetop used up all her arrows.

So with her bow and bag she left the building and went out looking for wood and feathers.

She wasn't sure if she was actually allowed outside the prison but this was a necessity. Still she remained stealthy.

Mom. Moooooooooom Sandy whispered at her mom and shook her.

Michonne opened her eyes and looked at her daughter who was wide awake and fully dressed. It was clear that she was ready to explore the place. SO Michonne crawled out of bed and let out a loud yawn.

Before you go or do anything you need breakfast. And Noah is proabaly still sleeping. So you'll have to wait a little while to see him.

Sandy gave a pout. I don't need breakfast. I'm not hungry. and Noah wont mind if I wake him up.

Well his mom might mind. SO just eat first and be patent

Laz woke in extreme pain. He laid in the cot fighting back tears. Now that all the adrenaline he had from yesterday was gone he now felt all of the pain he had endured.

He didn't want to wake up anyone so he quietly laid there looking at he ceiling trying to will the pain away.

Erica had to slip away.


But left Judith in the quiet care of Leonardo, and left him meditating, dozing in that way he had, he would not leave Judith until the young warrior was ready she knew - and whether it was Venus whispering in her ear, or the now twice over strong maternal instincts or perhaps just because her boobs felt hot tight and heavy Erica knew a tiny little mutant baby needed feeding so she slipped away back to the main community through the secret tunnels underground a large grey mutant rat being escorting her half the way but he turned off to inspect other tunnels.


She would arrive at Raph's room after checking her two babies were still resting with their Ratpa. And they were so she goes to the room of the new dad and niece and knocks gently - waiting for a come in before just bursting in, milked up tatas or not.

Though because the TreeToppers were to be assessed this morning by doctors and checked for good health no one would fail to realize Lazarus was hurting for too long, Donatello had left the quarters he and Casey shared earlier this morning and because Lilo had gone back to the main community to do the doctoring and rounds over there he stayed here and crept over to Laz's beside on light feet.


" Good Morning... don't ever hesitate to call out if you are in serious pain okay?" After all they couldn't help if not told and he offers a green stick pain reliever to the man. " just breathe in naturally as deep as you can." There were others awake and Stitch was moving among the beds checking on the waking ones. Leonardo would probably make announcements and good mornings very soon including when breakfast would be up, he knew Mikey had gone back into the main community the night before taking Ally. Normally it was not done but the girl was considered a special case with the Joker's interest in her and well they thought it might be safer for her in the long run.


Still, because it was early and all his own voice is light and Jumba takes over checking on Sherry and Dwight this morning.

April heard the exchange and made her way over, voice soft and low. " good morning Michonne, Sandy, there is some foot and water by the doors if your hungry now. But soon Breakfast will be called if anyone is feeling up to joining in the crowd in the mess hall otherwise it will be carted in here. I'm here to check up on everyone and injuries, how are you all this morning... Oh! and Judith is with Leonardo in the mess hall she's not far away."

The last thing LAz wanted was to wake the others up and have them see him in pain. What was this turtle doing in there little 'home' anyway? He got that Don was trying to help but jeeze a little privacy. Don't just come walking in.

Deep breaths. He kept his voice low.

Thank you. I'll be fine. I just have to get use to it is all. Please don't make a big deal out of me. I'll be fine. You should go jeck on those who really need help.

and suddenly there was an ear splitting scream.

Abby woke up and found that losing her hand wasn't just a dream. To make it worse she was having phantom limb pain. She still felt her hand and it hurt. How could something that's not there hurt so much!?

Sherry bolted out of bed and hurried to Abby's side. She hugged her adoptive daughter and tried to sooth her. But it wasn't working. The girl was in a fit. She was hurting she was confused and she was angry. Most of that anger was towards Sherry for leaving her behind to get bit!

Lexi had been up and down all night, checking on Kai and Laz, but exhaustion had finally taken her. She was unaware when Laz woke in pain, but the quiet voices of Donnie and her husband pulled her from her sleep...and then the not so quiet screams of Abby...

Eyes fluttering open, she pushed herself up and looked at Laz. "Are you okay?"

Kai had been woken by Abby's screams. Fighting back his own discomfort from his mutilated back, he pushed himself up and slid from the bed, determined to find her and make sure she was okay.

Great they woke up Lexi.

Laz turned to her and gave her his best smile.

Yeah I'm ok. Just a little pain. I didn't want to wake you. Sounds like someone woke up worse than me though.

Like Lexi, Glenn had been up and down all night, checking on his boys and pregnant wife. He waa especially worried about Logan due to his mishap. He picked him up several tones as he slept, just to hold him, make sure he was breathing, make sure he was okay. Eventually the fatigue caught up and he drifted off to sleep.

Noah has slept through the night, and would still be sleeping if not for his brother. Feeling the nudge, his tired eyes opened, but a grin eased across his lips seeing his brother. He was okay!! He pushed himself up and wrapped his arms around Logan, hugging him gently, mindful of his injuries....

Jumba waved at Donnie to say he had it, following the screams and bringing along an extra medic hand,  highlighted by a green armband with a white one beneath the green one signifying they were still mid training. Well, partway that is sending him off to collect the prosthetic limb printed for the girl.


And whilst Sherry had Abby Jumba tried to speak to them both, whether they heard or not and he hated giving any sort of pain meds without some form of acknowledgment or consent but the girl seemed beyond caring much. Still, he was going to try. The other medic guy would be along about five minutes.


" hello, I would like to administer a pain relief and muscle relaxant that should help, then have the prosthetic attached. May I do so?" Directed at Abby and Sherry, one or the other will answer assuming the woman was responsible for Abby.

Away in the community itself, Lilo went to wake Ally, careful on approach here in her quarters to make noise so as not to alarm the girl calling her name lightly. Leonardo had sent her here to keep her safe from Joker. Come on they were not stupid, Raphael had enough batman comics and movies in the days before the outbreak to know what the crazy clown was like with women. And well whilst they couldn't of course jump to the conclusion it would be the case this time, it was in the poor young woman's interest to err on the side of caution. And something productive to do, like hang with Lilo on her rounds within the community doing doctor things.

Mikey was humming, he was as usual in a pretty perky mood -


And bouncing over to one of the many screens he finds what used to be the menu button and scrolls down to select the microphone option - he would be heard in the PigSty and in Atlant itself.


" Goooooooood Mooooooorning Atlanta and the PigSty! today according to me, Mikey might be a little frosty, a little cool, and might even have a little snow so please folks if you are on farming, gardening, footpath or road maintenance or heading out into the wider cityscape or wilderness beyond rug up and be sure to have your survival pack on you at all times. Please if you are new or have no duties due to seasonal or other changes find the nearest sign postages for positions that need filling! Breakfast will be in one hour, if you cannot due to injury or illness make it to either the Great Hall or the Mess Hall alert a kitchen staff member, they will have an orange armband on and breakfast will be arranged to come to you. Announcements will be made at breakfast hour. And that's it from me until lunchtime." his cheery voice leaves off with that and he heads back to the main kitchen in Atlanta to prepare. There was a smaller dedicated screen in the kitchen channeling the PigSty's kitchen crew so they were working as a unit choosing to make pancakes today.

Don smiles a bit, " its more of a safety concern to worry about everyone - but if you have had enough of the puffer I'll take it... if there is anything that is needed just holler at someone with a green armband." he wasn't going to hang when there were others to check on. A smile and excusing himself with a soft apology to Lexi for waking her, and once he had the green stick puffer back.


He modified these as they were found and gathered because the findings are so limited he makes the ones they have able to be reloaded and of cause the ends taken off to sterilize for so as not to pass one infection onto another patient. moving onto the next collection of patients behind the curtains erected in this briefing room where all rescued from TreeTops were being housed aside from Dwight, Sherry and Abby - even so down the hall they could hear the screams, but he trusts Jumba is on it.


Pausing to listen to Mikey's voice come over the system, smiling.


The people of the TreeTops had been told the previous night their lists of jobs will be on the doors leading in here. Don glances at it now for the PigSty it was mostly some farming and cleaning spots that needed filling, a couple of kitchen spots.


Medics like him with green armbands, moved among the tree toppers as people came awake, reminding quietly under Mikey's announcement where the bathrooms and loos were and asking if anyone needed assisted walking or mobility options like wheelchairs. Or pain meds.


He can hear April explaining where Judith was and what snacks they could have to tide them over until breakfast.

Even though Abby was having a fit she did aknowladge Jumba with a nod.

Please do what you need to do for her. Sherry answered. Come on Abby, They are going to make you feel better.

Abby pushed away from Sherry and looked up at Jumba with teary eyes. This is her fault. She left me alone to get bit!

The man didn't put up a fight, Dieair was thankful for that, still, she kept an arrow pressed against the human's back. She walked him just outside the gates and called to the others.

There's a stranger here looking for shelter! The troll called out. It would be up to the others if he was allowed in or not.

So they waited until someone came out to meet them. The man with his hands in the air and not daring to make any sudden movements.

One of the guards fetched Don and told him about the stranger Dieair had caught. So he went to investigate.

He was surprised to see it was Baxter Stockman, a little worse for wears How that man manged to stay alive for so long was a mystery. Now to decide of he should be welcomed into their community or not.

You can lower your weapon, Dieair. This man isn't a threat. So Baxter, What can we do for you?

Dieair lowered the arrow but stood close. it seemed the two knew each other already.

BAxter rolled his of course it would be the turtles. Well better than shredder he supposed.

I just need somewhere to stay. And I believe having a doctor around would be useful would it not?

We have doctors.

You could always use more than one. and with my enginering skills I could really help advance this place.

Don sighed. You can stay. But you're on a trial period. SO don't do anything stupid. He grabbed one of the guards and instructed them to show Baxter around and find him a room and get the man something to eat. It looked like he hadn't had a meal in weeks.

Once that was taken care of Don handed Dieair a small box. Can you take this baby formula to Raphael. Just head up those stairs and you can't miss our living quarters.

Dieair took the box and nodded. She than quickly left to dilever the food.

Dieair followed the sound of voices and soon found where the turtles stayed it was much nicer than the cells below.

Excuse me! She called out.
